If the puppies arent stuck or she hasnt been straining for hours trying to get them out. Then you dont have to help her. Mom will do the work and all the rest. Give her a quiet, comfortable, warm, place to have them, be around in case she needs you. Have some towels, antiseptic cleaner (alchol), sissors, nose cleaner sucky thing, and a vets phone number with him aware hes on stand by. If the puppies arent coming out in a timely manner, you need to call the vet and get her in for an assisted birth.

Under normal circumstances you dont need to help you will only be an irritant and in the way.. if its a breach you have to turn it.. in most instances just stay outta the way.. they have been doing this for thousands of years... (and you might get bit) I totally disagre with the above (particularly the unbilical cord and siccors bit (SHEESH!) but I disagree with most of that persons post re dogs and birth.. and just about any sane person would) the Mom knows how and when and where to do that.. you dont.. If there isnt a problem.. stay the hell out of it.. in this bit the dog is smarter than you..

First get the mom to be in an area that is quiet and warm. Make sure you have plenty of light to see in case you have to help her.
Have on hand towels and a pair of scissors to cut the puppies umbilical cord. Also have a baby's suction bulb to suction out the puppies nose and mouth. Have handy a basket to keep the pups in with a large empty soda bottle filled with warm water in it . Wrap the soda bottle with a towel and place in basket. Make sure its not too hot. You may have to tear open the sack each pup is born in. Just rip it open and start to rub the new pup with the towels to dry it off and get it breathing and yipping. After each pup is born and whaling, and they do whale, place the pup into the basket with the warm bottle. This will give mom a moment to recoup, and you too. If mom is reating comfy get the puppy and place it on the moms teat. Mom will lick it to death and thats OK. Make sure the pup is on moms teat within a few minutes you can help place it on. Stay with mom to make sure when the next pup comes she doesnt step or lay on the pup thats already here.
Good luck!
