I live in Queensland, Australia. One of our neighbours has put out poisoned bait to kill wild dogs ect and we were not notified that the bait was going to be put out. There were also no signs in the area. The bait was poisoned with ten eighty, that can kill anything from doemstic animals to any wildlife. Our dog ate the bait, went crazy and started vomiting before she jumped in2 our dam and sunk to the bottom. We want to have a go at out neighbours for killing our dog, but we are not sure of the rules and regulations behind baiting. Can u help me?

I live in Queensland, Australia on acreage.I have a jack russel who we let off the leash some days as we have acres and its unfair to keep a dog tied up. Our neighbours have cows and horses. kick your neighbors butt!!!!!!!screw the regulations!they didnt even tell you about the poison and caused your poor dog to commit suicide!they probably did it on purpose!if it was a pitbull or rotwieler or a breed known to be aggresive then it was on purpose because many ignorant people think its right to kill off the whole breed!kick your neighbors ***!!!!!!

I'm not sure about the laws in Australia, but in Michigan in the US, the law would side with the farmer. Here, if the farmer baited his own property to protect his live stock and your dog wandered onto his property and ate the bait, the farmer is not at fault.

Sorry for your loss, I really don't know the laws in Australia. But maybe they would say that you should keep your dog in your own yard. If they're trying to kill other animals, and your dog eats the bait...is it really their fault that your dog went on their land? I wish you the best of luck.

Report it to pet control department. or call the police that work with pets-safety. The law protects animals. I was you I make a couple of calls. and I'm Sorrie to say it was your fault the dog die. Cause you new. Next time do the right thing. and don't forget to report this for the sake of animals. And animals lovers. and for your dog that past.

I feel very badly for your loss. The neighbors will too - I am sure of this. Be sure to tell them of their mistake as they may have homeowners insurance which will help you buy another dog. PLUS alerting them to *always* tell every neighbor about putting out poisen.
YOU MUST DO THIS= to help the next unsuspecting neighbor.

not sure about the laws in Australia, but i know in California, farmers must post signs and make sure every neighbor knows.

check with your local district and find out before you battle it out with your neighbor.

i cant believe they were that inconsiderate. do they not have pets or children of their own?
