Dogs (and cats) who talk aren't really "speaking" the way you or I would. They don't understand what the words mean or why, exactly they're saying them. It's just like a parrot. All you have to do is train them to "say" what you want them to by repeating the word or phrase and giving them a treat after. It helps to start them by teaching them to howl after you do.

It's exactly the same as training a parrot, just not as common, so it's more "unbelievable."

Of course they can. When they shake their head (it looks to us like -NO) but it actually means "yes" to them.

They bow (front legs on the ground, but in the air). That means play.

Burps, means "I want" (pay attention to what they are looking at to finish the sentance.)

Many breeds yawl. If you listen carefully, there are a number of very distinct yawls they will use at certain times when they are trying to communicate with humans or other dogs.

Any owner knows the difference between the playful growl and a growl that is a warning

As for the video. Most of these dogs have obviously been very well rewarded for certain behaviors and they have learned to repeat the behavior to get a reward.

,Oh, How cute was that ! Yes, I think they can talk but they may not understand what they are saying only what the reward will be.
Our dog will mistake any word with the (eat) sound for the word treat and head for the cabinet where the dog treats are kept. We now call it candy to try and get her away from the eat sound we use so much. She is getting chubby. (ha!ha!)

Yes dogs can talk. Either by barking or by trying to mimic us, they do their best to get their message across. They understand our words, they just don't have the vocal cords we do, but they definitely understand us, why else would they run like hell when you say the word VET?

what r u thinking of course dogs CAN'T TALK. You probabaly are drunk. And if u weren't drunk than the person who put it on took the dogs barking, took out the sound and put in human voices. But without that dogs can't talk

My dog yawned twice this morning and each time it sounded exactly like she was saying "hi". Of course, I said "hi" back to her.

My dog, Big Al, tells me: I want out! So I let him out. He also looks at me like I am stupid. Other than letting me know he wants out he also screams at squirrels. He hates them. They are evil incarnate to him.

My family claims Big Al also mind melds with me....and makes me do his bidding! Steaks, hamburgers, hot dogs.
