My 80 lb. Doberman is vomiting after he eats. When he gets sick, it looks like he didn't chew his food...most of it seems still to be whole. (dry Pedigree dog food) I checked his stools & I don't see any worms (he's been wormed) & he doesn't act sick except for at meal time. I'm about to take him to the vet but I wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this.
Thanks

I would take him to the vet too ...but i would also try elevating his food bowl and see if that helps as that is what i had to do with my cat he was doing the same thing and it worked ....

He may be allergic to something in his food. Pedigree is a low grade food, not quiet the bottom of the line. Give the dog some bread and a little milk, and any table scraps you may have (easy on the salt and pepper). If the dog can tolerate table food-then I would suspect that he may be allergic to something in the Pedigree. BUT, just switching foods may not help. If the dog is allergic to chicken!!!, that will be in most all commercial dog foods. Chicken by-products and fat is cheap, and is used as flavoring.
If the table food works-then try to find some Dick Van Patton's allergy free foods. You will have to get it at a Pet store, the grocer will not have it.There is Duck, Fish, and Venison. It is not cheap-about $1.30 per pound. But if it works-its much cheaper than shots. 2 of my 4 dogs are on allergy free foods. They work-if "allergy" is the problem.

You are doing the right thing by taking him to the vet but you might want to try either wetting the dog food or giving him canned dog food but you should have his teeth checked as it seems like he isn't chewing I have the same problems in my cats and my husky you might want to try a different kind of dry food too look for one that the kibble isn't to big or small look for large breed dog food and wet it with water or better yet chicken broth he'll love you for it good luck.

I would take him to the vet regardless. However, I had a doberman puppy that used to do that. His problem was simply eating too fast. My vet had me stick a large toy in the food bowl. The dog had to push around the toy to get to the food and thus, he ate slower. This might not be your dog's problem, but it certainly does explain it. :-)
