What kind of Mastiff do you own? How many do you own? What color are they? How big are they? How old are they? What is their name?

I have 1 English Mastiff he is 4 months old he weighs 47 lbs and is about as tall as a Lab. He is a fawn color and his name is Zues.

I had a Bull Mastiff/German Shepard Mix pass away about 3 weeks ago. He was the best dog ever. He was a little over 10 when he died. His name was Rosco and he was about 90 lbs. He was also a fawn color. He was a little taller than a male German Shepherd.

I love this breed don't you?

He's two years old and it has come about whenever my husband has a cold or just clears his throat, like in morning or any other time. He used to go look at my husband like he wanted to know what was wrong with him, now he just wants to shy away or go in another room or outside. It's very evident that the noise bothers him.

I have an 8 month old Staffie x lab which is more Lab than Staffie. She was abused (tied up and left alone outside by first owner) then surendered to the pound. She is a fantastic dog who I have no major worries about except her want/need to climb all over me. I amy be sat on the longe and she will climb not only on my lap but try to sit on my shoulder or push her head in to my body. She has only ever tried the dominance thing of humping with me once which I sternly put a stop to. Any ideas on why she does this. Is it another dominance thing or is she just after the affection she never got when she was a small pup (she is almost 23 kilos now so quite heavy) She actually climbs on my knee (whole family' s actually) faces forwards and wraps her paws around our shoulders and pushes in close. Kinda like a cuddle/hug. She does not nip/bite/chew or hump while doing this
Your thoughts very much appreciated thanks

He is a rescue lurcher who dominates puppies and plays boisterously. Some people think he is attacking their dog but once he has established his dominance with puppies, he leaves them and comes to me. To me this is normal pack behaviour of establishing hyerarchy but other dog owners can be quite rude and aggressive towards me. He is quite submissive with people and is very affectionate. When no other dogs are around he is very obedient but I want him to be well socialised and think it is important for him to mix with all types of dog.

I was thinking about it for a bit, but dogs are pretty relentless when they're aggressive, so if you have a dog, any breed really, charging towards you, what can you do to make sure you get out of it with as little damage as possible?

My dog died over 18mths ago and whenever I think about him good or bad the tears start to roll. I think it is partly because I never got to say goodbye (he was living with my parents and got bitten by a snake) How do I get over the sadness? it probably doesn't help that I have photo's on the wall of him, should I take take them down? they're there for respect to my best friend but also a constant reminder. I tearing up now writing the question.

Please don't answer with 'get over it' because it's not really that simple!

Before you make up your mind about whether or not a 'pit bull' ban is justified you owe it to the breeds affected to learn the truth.

It is true that the 'pit bull' was originally bred to fight - other dogs. However the dogs lived at home as a family pet in the late 1800s and lived in the house with the wives and children of the men who fought their dogs for sport, so they needed to be absolutely reliable around people. Dogs that showed human aggression were culled - that means they were euthanized and never bred from. These actions have evolved a unique dog personality where animal aggression has absolutlely no correlation to human aggression.According to Alfons Estelt of the American Temperament Test Society, Inc. temperament evaluations of American Pit Bull Terriers shows that this breed has a very high passing rate of 95%. The average passing rate for the other 121 breeds of dogs in the tests: 77%.
There are quite a few celebrities who have owned one of the 'pit bull' breeds that Michael Bryant would ban in Ontario: Ray Romano, Don Cherry, Fred Astaire, President Roosevelt, Jack Dempsy, Thomas Edison, Madonna, Michael J Fox, Brad Pitt, Bernadette Peters, Sinbad, Alicia Silverstone, Linda Blair, Humphrey Bogart, Usher, Mel Brooks, Ann Bancroft, John Stuart, Jan Michael Vincent, Pink, Kelli Williams, Ken Howard (Father in Crossing Jordon - his Pit Shadow saved his life), Malcolm Jamal Warner, Stephan Jenkins, Rosie Perez, Ananda Lewis, Amy Jo Johnson, Mary Tyler Moore, Steve and Terrie Erwin (the Crocodile Hunter), Jack Johnson, Bill Berloni (Broadway show dog trainer who has said that the Pit is the breed of choice for training), Anthony Robbins, Molly Price, President Woodrow Wilson, Frankie Muniz, AJ Mclean, Barbara Eden, and even Helen Keller.

I want to remove the lawn in my back garden - basically as my dog is out in the garden during the day so when I get home he's dirty from the lawn especially with recent wet weather. I am going to patio half the garden and was thinking about timber decking the remainder. Has anyone else done this? Would number 1s and 2s damage the decking? I can't patio the whole thing as there's a big enough slope

My dog had all her nipples on one side removed due to cancer. Against my best efforts she got to licking them. The stitches have now been removed but the vet said they may burst. Of the 20cm long scar about 2cm is a little open, will this heal as scar tissue or will she need to be restitched which means reopening the wound to create a new line of fresh tissue. I put a bandaid across it to pull it together, is this a good idea or not? She has had a 4 day antibiotic shot and I am going overseas in 4 days, I would like it healed before I go. It is not infected, just a little open.

The stitches have now been removed but the vet said "she can't guarantee they will not burst". Of the 20cm long scar about 2 cm looks a little open. Will this eventually heal by itself and just create scar tissue or will she need to be restitched, which means taking more skin to create a new line? It does not look infected and she had a 4 day antibiotic too. I am going overseas on Tuesday and want her well before I go. Is it a good idea to put a 'bandaid' across it to hold it together??
