here's the story.
Before you read understand i am upset and want to have the dog put down.
understand though for the last 14 years I have loved him and taken and great care of hijm.
Heck hes 14 years old and stil acts like a puppy
so untill today i did care about him. Buit now i have a sever hatred for him. and want to give him to someone else or have him put down.

so heres the deal my roommate left my birds cage open after changing the water. The bird got out and my small poodle dog attacked and malled it to wear she looked like something you would buy in the grocery store.

so now im mad about my dog doing this. and thin i should have him put down. am i right or wrong feeling this way?

Should I have the dog put down? or should i keep the dog and forgive him?or should i just give him a new home since i may night take good care of him now?

what woould you do?

I feed my 3 year old lhasa mix Purina One Lamb & Rice Formula. I've recently been told that it's crap dog food, bad for my dog, and that I should switch.

My dog is actually a healthy weight. He is not allergic to his food, and his coat is soft and fluffy. He eliminates regularly and without much mess. From my point of view, he's doing just fine on his food.

But is there another reason that I'm overlooking? Is there a reason that I should change his food to a more quality brand even though he seems to be doing fine?

I have no idea about other breeds, but in mine there is always one or two very popular studs that are used HUNDREDS if not THOUSANDS of times in their lives. Personally, I don't care how good that dog is, the breed does not need to be inundated with so many dogs from the same couple of sires. I think there should be a limit on the number of times a dog can be used. I am sick of trying to find a stud for a bit ch and seeing the SAME dogs in all the pedigrees!!!!! Thoughts??

i am really confused about how best to train a puppy like this. he's white, will get totally dirty if he goes outside, but will i really be successful in trying to get a dog to permanently go on a pad in a litterbox? has anyone had any success training a dog to consistently go in a litterbox?

she's one years old.. and her "brother" is a German Sheperd Mix. Whom has taught her what barking is. I work at PetsHotel and all the Huskies I've come across howl like a Siberian Husky is suppose to. Where as, she barks like a regular dog. Does anyone know if there is any to get her to know how her breed is suppose to bark, will having her spend more time with only other huskies fix her?
Also, my boyfriend and I were discussing about his pitbull... a rat got into his tub of food.. and he's wondering if it's horrible for its health?
THANK YOU.

Trying to potty train my 2mo old bassett hound but he keeps peeing without any signals. We've kept him under close eye the entire time and he has had accidents shortly after going outside and urinating. No sniffing, no restlessness, just a quick squat and lets it go.

What can I do?

In the case of the little girl being killed by a pitbull, why was it there in the first place? Will the uncle be procecuted for owning a dog that is illigal in the UK?
Pitbulls in the UK were put on the dangerous dogs act back in 1982. All pitbulls at the time were required to be castrated or neutered and to be muzzled at all times. So in theory there shud be no pitbulls or cross pitbulls under the age of 14 in the UK. The people that have breed them over the past 14 years shud be procecuted. They are just mindless selfish people who have no respect for the law or the poor dogs that end up being destoryed because idiots think its hard to have a macho dog by their side. All dogs are breed for differant purposes. Terriers were breed to fight and kill. It's their instinct. Pitbulls were breed to fight bulls to the end and like staffies are able to lock their jaws when they get a good grip. A squeekling child to a terrier is like an injured animal and it's instinct just cums out.

I am thinking about getting a new puppy. But, I am wondering is it because I am going to like the idea of have a little dog for a couple of weeks? Cause I know some people who just want a dog because it sounds fun at first. I already have a dog so I know about all of the responsibility that comes with it. What should I do?

I got a boxer seven years ago and I ended up having to fix her due to the unfixed and roaming male dogs in the area. I have regreted that decision every day since. I do not think god has made a more loyal, loving, well mannered, smart, and awsome with children of all ages dog then her. Her name is Zeana. She is getting older so we purchased another Boxer puppy in April of 2006. In hopes that Zeana would teach the puppy some of her characteristics. That Puppies name is Gracie. She is a year old now and we are thinking of breeding her. I am worried of it changing who she is and personally I do not really like the way a dogs nipples stay streched out. So I guess I would like to know if their attitude or personality changes forever and if her nipples will go back to normal?

I recently moved from two acres next to BLM land to a small tract house. I have a 10 year old male Australian Shepherd, an 8 year old female Australian Shepherd and a year old male Red Heeler. All dogs are neutered. My problem is that both males seem to compete for my attention- they are always grumbling and growling at each other under my feet, and sometimes fight on their way in and out of the door. One time I was bitten when one dog missed the other and got me instead. I've been trying the dominance down on them. I've been thinking of setting up dog beds in different rooms for them, and "sending them to their 'rooms' for time-out" when they get into their macho thing (making them sit, lie down, and stay in a designated area) or putting them in crates. I take them out with me twice a week to ride my horse, and am trying to work in more walks and ball play time for them (especially the Red Heeler- he really needs a job). I may be able to work stock with them once a month. Ideas?

My chihuahua does the most annoying thing: whenever I give him something to eat like a small treat, instead of eating it right away, he puts iitn the nearest blanket and buries it with his nose--he'll kep at it for a while, almost like it has to nestled just right. He stands guard over it for about 30min or longer, then eats it. Why????

I have a friend whose dog's eyes are both indigo, and I've heard about dogs with multiple colors in one eye and with each eye being a different color.

I'm just wondering if anyone knows what this is called or what causes this.
