Wow. If you think the Humane Society is CHEAP, then you really do want free. Why free??? Why do you not want to pay for a dog?? And it is Siberian Husky. I doubt for free you will know much of what you are getting either!!

I know this sounds strange two things keep looking in the papers for a cheap or free dog,try all local papers even far away ones maybe they can meet you half way and find other pepole that have Syberian Huskys ask them where they got theres and how much once you find a breeder you might be able to nogiate price or set up payments .

Try www.petfinder.com and www.nextdaypets.com They both list animals of all breeds and you can narrow your search down to location, breed, age, and gender.
Nextdaypets.com has dogs for sale and adoption. Check out both lists. You will find some expensive ones but there are plenty who are trying to find a dog a home because they can no longer care for them. In those cases you will be able to find a dog for "cheap" or free.

try craigslist.org...search for the type of dog under "pets"
