Maybe it is just playing you might want to check for flees. Get mad at it when it does that.

The most common cause for chewing of the paws are FOOD ALLERGIES. If you are feeding a low quality food that has corn and grain listed in the ingrediants then more than likely this is what it is....... any of the grocery store brands are filled with nothing but junk that are not good for your dog or puppy. science diet is the same way, it is overpriced over rated. the vets promote science diet not because of nutrition but because they get a 40 opercent profit on promoting this crappy food.
you want good food switch to an all natural food like innova, canidae, solid gold or california natural. These are just a few good ones. You want a food with meat as the first few ingrediants.

Well, there could be something itchy on his paw like a parasite, so have that checked out.
But some dogs will obsess about chewing on a spot on their leg on paw, and always the same spot. Try to redirect your puppy's attention with a pigear or something else nice to chew. There are sprays that don't taste very nice that you can try too..just get one specifically for spraying on fur and make sure you aren't spraying on an open wound.

HI
Either something is in his paw or he has a compulsive disorder and the vet has medication for that so that he does not make major raw spots it is like a tranquilizer but start simple and buy him some chew toys to get his mind off his paws.

puppies are a lot like children the need to know what everything feels like, dogs tongue and paws are how they communicate touch, push, feel , dig lick on and on. From my experience with puppies/dogs is of coarse they clean themselves but they also develop hot spots which is irritated skin an they will pick, and like, and chew until it is raw they have sprays and creams. hope this helps you out

Awww that sounded so cute! Maybe your little puppy has some fleas in it and that is why he keeps on biting on it. Are you sure that it is the same paw? Take him to the puppy doctor! Hahahaha!

Could have yeast in the folds of the skin. If you don't dry his paws well after a bath the yeast can form. I just went through this with my bulldog. Got medicine from the vet to clear up yeast and now she doesn't chew anymore.

Have you checked the pads/inside of the paw? Maybe there's something stuck there and it's uncomfortable. He could be trying to get it out. If there's nothing there, I would check with a vet, he could diagnose the problem. Could be allergies.

I have a 3 month old golden retriever puppy named Honey who loves chewing on all 4 of her feet and i think its because she is teething, but i have not been able to make her stop. Just make sure she has lots of bones, chew toys and other stuff to chew and keep her occupied.

im not sure why but to make him stop
step one: stop him by moving his muzzle from his paw
step two: go to a vet and get test done or ask him/her to take a look at it
