Get a friend to create an exam for the two of you. An IQ test if u will, who ever scores higher then you'll know who is smarter :-)

If you have to ask that question, there is a strong possiblity that your dog is smarter than you.

Have you ever watched the show THE DOG WHISPER its a good show and he gives you some good tips by watching him handle dogs he also has a book out called Ceaser's Way it may be a way to help you

OR--let him watch you unpack your groceries. A dog would have to be impressed with someone who can bring home whole chickens and pieces of cows---you're the mighty hunter!

Your dog THINKS he is the LEADER of the PACK. You need to train him to respect you as his leader... Many people don't want to "control" their pet, they want to be their friend... Friends are nice, but if you don't establish yourself as his leader, he will assume the role. (Control does not mean harsh... just trained...)
This won't change overnight; you have to do things step by step. I'm including a link that will help you understand the situation and ways to solve the problem.
