I got a boxer seven years ago and I ended up having to fix her due to the unfixed and roaming male dogs in the area. I have regreted that decision every day since. I do not think god has made a more loyal, loving, well mannered, smart, and awsome with children of all ages dog then her. Her name is Zeana. She is getting older so we purchased another Boxer puppy in April of 2006. In hopes that Zeana would teach the puppy some of her characteristics. That Puppies name is Gracie. She is a year old now and we are thinking of breeding her. I am worried of it changing who she is and personally I do not really like the way a dogs nipples stay streched out. So I guess I would like to know if their attitude or personality changes forever and if her nipples will go back to normal?

I have not seen one Boxer that doesn't look not as nice after having pups - yes, especially because they are so short haired, their nipples will look bad forever after. Personality changes while raising the pups sometimes, but usually returns to normal once they have gone off to college (LOL!).

There are soooo many Boxers out there, and you can see that their personalities are much the same, even in unrelated dogs...I suggest leaving breeding to the experts. It is a lot more work & possible tears than you can begin to imagine. For instance: http://www.woodhavenlabs.com/breeding.html

first, dogs, regardless of breed only come in season about once every 6 months.second,as a long time boxer breeder my biggest concren is if she is a high enough quality to breed.we all think our dogs are prefect and for us they are but with so many ynwanted dogs in the world why add to the population?the question you should be asking is if she is show quality?if she is and you do a lot of research into which male to breed her to,then by all means do so,it won`t change her.her nipples may or may not go back to the way they looked before.i assume you have been training her and she shouldn`t be bred before she is at least 2 years old but if you are doing it for all the right reasons, you will be rewarded with a beautiful litter of puppies and a boxer mom that if anything will only get better in her ability to love and protect you and your family.they are without a doubt one of the top breeds for a family dog.good luck.

PLEASE do not breed you boxer. Every dog can be a great family dog but that doesn't mean it should be bred. There are some amazing boxer breeders out there. They are highly reputable and compared to a lot of other breeds they are willing to talk to you and they publish plenty of articles. If you truly want to breed get a mentor. I love my boxer but would never have given a second thought to getting him neutered. I love my boxer enough to put neuter him. Contact a reputable breeder. Go to the American Boxer Club site.

Boxers are notorious for health problems. The American boxer club has a list of tests for boxers that should be done before breeding.

ok what mmbmem said is very untrue they do not have a monthly period like a woman they still only have a heat every 6 months give or take, on the personality more then likely not it wont change them, and on the nipples part yes they will go back as long as the dog is exercized regularly that helps with them going back to normal,, I hope this has helped and good luck if you decide to breed its alot of work if the mom is unable to nurse and take care of them but its well worth the work cause they are such wonderful dogs

since each dog is different its hard to say, Breeding a dog might change one animal forever but another might not change at all. But if you are worried about it, I just wouldnt do it, Cause once its done, its done! no going back!
So do some research and think real hard about it. Good Luck! they both sound like great dogs!

Her persnoality will change she may become more nuturing and serious. He nipples will be larger the if she wasn't going to have pups. The structure will change she will fill out like a womens does. why do you want to breed from her your better off desexing her and making sure she won't change!
