I have been told that due to her only showing signs of her season 3 days before mating she will not be producing eggs and so she will not have been caught with our stud dog, is this correct ?. This will be the first time she has shown any real interest in our Stud dog, she puts her rear end in his face, moves her tail to one side and stiffens her back legs. apparently these are all the signs that she is ready to mate but several people have said that her timming is all wrong. Please shed some light on this matter, can she be producing eggs so soon into her season ?, Is it likely that due the her behaviour she is fertile and ready to produce pups ?.

Is it common among boxer breeds?

By that I mean the one that is calm with children and other pets. One that is fun to play with. I also do not want one that needs CONSTANT attention. (I don't want it to be noisy and bark a lot) This is a lot to ask for a dog, but I thought maybe you know one.

I just found an Italian Greyhound. He looks very underweight and he has obviously been out in the elements for a while.

His Foot Pads are very torn - one is hanging from the foot and several others are missing entirely.

He has just eaten an entire 12 oz can of food -

Here is where I need some advice -
I plan on taking him to the Vet tommarrow morning - They are all closed here now.
However, what can I do to make him more comfortable?
He is having a very hard time getting around...
How much should I let him Eat? I dont want him to get sick - it looks like he hasn't eaten in a while either....
Thanks a lot

I'm a Dalmatian and Border Collie owner and I moved to San Diego and I could only have one dog there and my poor nervous Dalmatian wouldn't do well during the moving process. So we gave her away to a different family not because we didn't like her but because we loved her and wanted what was best. But now our Border Collie doesn't like being an only dog so we though about getting her a new friend but now the people that we gave her to don't want her anymore and want to give her back to us. But why did they get her if they were going to replace her with a Tea Cup poodle in 4 months? What Jerks!!!! Anyways, Should I get a new one or get my old Dalmatian back?

My dog just had 10 puppies 3 days ago and she seems to be becoming less interested in sticking around and feeding them and I am concerned that they aren't all getting the right amount of food, is there anything that I can do to help feed them?

We have 2 little Dachshunds (15 pounds each). They are both young and healthy. We want to fly from Detroit to Birmingham, Alabama but we do not want to leave them home.

Should they be sedated? Are they kept warm? Do they have any lights where they are kept? etc, etc. Any particulary good airlines?

If a pit bull or rott suddenly attacked a small child would you try to stop it and how if you had no weapons? I have heard that it is extremely hard and that the pit or rott will then turn on the rescuer.

Our dog is 3 and 1/2 and will not stop humping dogs at the park. I think he does it as a dominance thing to encourage other dogs to play with him, but its very annoying and the other owners are often not amused.

Suggestions, ideas?

Thanks.

My 2 dogs get an exam & all of the required shots every year. My vet is now recommending Bordetello shots twice a year. Is it necessary? They do not interact with other dogs. My dogs have been kennelled once in 5 years. I think it's just a way for the Vet to get more $$ out of us.

Are they difficult to housetrain? Has anyone out there owned one? Are they smart? Are they a lap dog? Are they really stubborn? Do they run away when they get the chance? Do they like cuddling? I'm thinking about getting one and don't want to make a 15-year mistake. In other words, I want any information about the breed I can get from someone that knows one personally. ;-) I have a yorkie that has congestive heart failure and my way of dealing with it is to look forward to a puppy. The only thing I don't like about having a yorkie is the amount of grooming involved. Also, she was very difficult to house train. I love the terrier "spunk". Some web sites say the toy fox terriers are the easiest of the toy breeds to house train and some say they are difficult.

I didn't think it was possible but the rotty is male and the mini poodle is female. He had been trying to breed with her and I have been having to seperate them. I know for sure she is in heat. I have heard rumors that a big dog breeding with a small dog like her can kill her and I am worried. Does anyone have any useful info on this or websites and is it even possible.

We live in a small 2 bedroom house. it does have a fenced yard about 1/2 an acre but 3/4 is cement. Im currently 7 months Prego and my dog a Pit bull (that he wouldnt let live with us and was at my parents house) died 2 days before xmas. Now i want a dog so bad i dream about having one. I want a med/large dog like the one i had before not necisarily a pit bull (not a lab or retriever tho). He REFUSES! He will only let me have a Tiny/small sized dog like a chihuahua, says they dont make as big of a mess and it would be safer around the baby. Whats your opinon?
