I don't understand why people get all upset about a dog being outside. If they are povided shelter to get out of the elements what is the big deal?? They are animals that love to be outside where they came from. I am an outdoor person and am outdoors as much as I possibly can, (work, play, and even sleep) I understand when pets are left outdoors with no attention, I think that is wrong, but is not the case with mine. Indoor visits are a fun thing but getting to go back outside is even better.

My 7-year-old black lab/retriever hasn't acted normal for several days. He vomited yesterday and has been very sluggish since Thursday morning. He seems a bit better today, but has been out in the rain staring into space.

He's never acted like this before. Could he have a cold or flu?

I was about a week late on his heartworm pill and I gave it to him on Thursday evening, when he already acted a little funny. So I don't think it's that.

My dog is 7 months old and has enough toys and enough time with me yet still leans towards my boyfriend who spends less time at home. I am home all the time and when I go out she comes with. Yet sometimes when I go without her or when I go the shower she seems to like to eat my stuff, such as my underwear socks bras, well lets just say everything I touch!! My books and papers as well! She never seems to like to touch my boyfriends stuff which is really odd, and I feel like she has been mad at me since she has been here, and she is taking it out on me! Can any one help me with this? I don´t know what to do anymore! Its everything I touch!

I have a puppy with a severe case of pnemonia. He has been released by the vet with all the meds already. I want to ease his breathing. He is finally eating again, and drinking, thanx to pedialyte, but I was wondering if humidified air would help him? I thought I could take my fabric steamer and hook it up in the bathroom and sit with him in there with steamed air - does anyone know if humid air can harm his lungs when he is this sick or will it help? Vet is unavailable until monday. Please help

Seriously, I think that would be ideal to teach the next generation how to responsibly own, train and handle dogs. If we reach them and give them better knowledge about dogs I think it could cut down on animal abuse, dog attacks, neglect and chained "outdoor" dogs, backyard breeding, etc etc. I think knowledge is power and the more we learn the better our society becomes. I think that today, not enough people know about mans best friend to be able to make responsible choices regarding dogs, I truly believe that the more our children are taught about dogs the better our future circumstances will be. What do you think? Should we be teaching our children all we can about Canis lupus familiaris in our schools?? Do you think it would have a positive impact? Why or why not?

I have a lab mix who requires a lot of exercise. I recently got a new job, and just dont have the time for her needs, I have considered looking for a new home for her that may have more time to spend with her. I have had her since she was a pup, and I am sad to think that she wouldnt be around anymore. I feel bad that she is in her kennel all the time, but I cant leave her in the house because she is too destructive. Would I be doing the right thing for her? I am only thinking of her needs.

I purchased a pure Pomeranian male at 9 months old as I did not want to go through the typical housebreaking of a puppy. He came from a good breeder but was kept in a 10x10 run with another dog, free to go to the bathroom as they pleased.

I have a new house that I want to keep free from undue dog mess if possible. I'm also a single mom who works fulltime, so my time is a little limited with the dog. He's now 10.5 months and I keep him in a very large room with tile and his open crate while I work. He has pee pads too, however, prefers to hold it all day till I return-no problems there. Yet, when I do let him in the main house with us, it is not long before he poops on the floor. Even if I just took him outside and he did it out there, within an hour he does it again on the floor. I like the dog, he is really a good boy. But I am at my wits end with this. It's been 2 1/2 months since I got him. Any ideas? I hate to get rid of him.
