I have a puppy with a severe case of pnemonia. He has been released by the vet with all the meds already. I want to ease his breathing. He is finally eating again, and drinking, thanx to pedialyte, but I was wondering if humidified air would help him? I thought I could take my fabric steamer and hook it up in the bathroom and sit with him in there with steamed air - does anyone know if humid air can harm his lungs when he is this sick or will it help? Vet is unavailable until monday. Please help

There is no vet available in my area. Don't worry, I would never put it in an area where he could get burned. I thought about the shower by itself, but with Grandchildren around, I don't have my hot water tank set high enough to create alot of steam.

if your puppy is eating it sounds like he is getting better, i would just continue with his meds. I really don't think the steam will help also you wouldn't want to risk the fabric steamer falling and burning your puppy

Yes, a small room (bathroom) and lots of steam!! This is the best solution. But if your in the bathroom, why not turn on a ot shower and create the steam that way?

Hello =)

Absolutely not!!!

Increased humidity makes pneumonia worse, not better!!

Increased warmth may help, but not humidity.

Have you ever had pneumonia yourself?? The last thing you want is humid air!! Dry warmth is definitely best.

Namaste,
