I have a 8 month old dog that's a real jumper. I've been working on getting him comfortable with small jumps, and I was wondering if anyone had any tips, or good web sites to check out for more information. Thanks a lot!

My 6th month old Yorkie is contantly chewing my hands and biting me. He has plenty of chew toys but prefers people! Do I have to use a training aid or is this something he will eventually grow out of?

I adopted a 6 month old dog from a local shelter. He was brought in as a stray so they didnt know for sure what breed he is. Is there anyway telling for sure what breed or mixed breeds he is? He has spotty legs and body like a german short haired pointer and he has airplane ears like a border collie with the stripe down his face but his nose is also spotty like his legs. he has a longer tail like a lab and it is not at all fluffy, he also has a spot on his tounge......i am trying to figure it out so that maybe i will be able to tell more about his personality and breed characteristics

My dog is an outside dog. He barks all the time and I think it's because he's bored. I want to spend more time with my dog, but I don't know what to do. We play fetch but I want to do something that's more fun. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

I just read an answer that said seclawing a dog was a good idea. I know that removing dew-claws is done normally, but taking them all off as you would a cat? Is that right, in the humane sense?

We've had lots of cats, most of which we've had de-clawed because we like our furniture, but I can't see a good reason to remove a dog's nails, can you?

I have a pomeranian pup thats kind of strange. he was the largest of his litter and he is the sweetest thing ever. so well behaved and so caring, he loves to cuddle and he's always accepting of anyone who comes over. does anyone else have a pomeranian like this? is this typical of poms?

we have a 4 month old beagle puppy, and she has only recently started barking every morning at about 5am. This has only started about 1 weeks ago, but she sleeps outside, and every morning without fail she barks constantly. at first we ignored her as this is what our vet told us to do, but it can go on for hours and over the weekend our neighbours complained. i don;t blame them.... it is quite annoying. we are not sure what to do now. any ideas.
thanks.

My boyfriend and i are planning on getting a dog, hopefully within the next year or so. We are going to wait until we get a house and enough money. Basically a more stable life style. Well i have been waiting my whole life for a dog, so i have been doing all kinds of research, and i bring up the topic a lot. We both have our favorite dog breeds, but the one we have in common is a pit bull or pit bull mix that we would get from an animal shelter. The only problem is that I want to adopt an adult dog, and he wants to adopt a puppy. I want an adult dog because they are not generally as demanding as a puppy, they are usually house trained, more calm, and a lot of them at some point had an owner that helped with training. And adult dogs are more in need of a home. And puppies require so much energy, time, and money. THey have to get all their puppy shots, get fed every few hours, go out every few hours, time every day spent on training. ........ continues...

I have taken her to the vet and we have her on several medications - ex. clavamox, baytril, enalapril, salix, aeropulmin as well as green tea, ginger tea, honey, dyne and lots of tlc. She won't eat but will drink. I got chicken baby food and mixed it with some green tea and gave it to her with a syringe and she accepted it but then threw it up along with the thick mucus. I'm so afraid I'm going to lose her and I just about did this afternoon. Can anyone please tell me what I can do for the mucus? Her breathing is so shallow and labored. I have already done the hot steam from the shower with no avail. Any advise is most appreciated.

My dog seems to not getting into her head that she cannot pee on my carpet. She doesn't do it when your paying attention to her but the moment that you turn your back, you're bound to find a puddle. I don't know if she's doing to get attention, obviously i can't give her attention 24-7. She thinks you're playing with her after scolding her and she's 8 months now. I would think that by this age, housebreaking should be relatively near. How long does it take a dog to becoming completely housebroken anyway? I've reached the point where i feel like i can't do anything anymore and am so frustrated, i'm nearing the point of selling her. Can anyone help me with what her problem is or is there something i can do? Thanks.
