She has been fleaed, bathed,I have had her anal glands empied, and she is now on antihistamine (allergy relief tablets) but at least 5-6 times a day she goes crazy itching. Please, can an anyone suggest something .....

now, i'm not an anyone, but i'll suggest this anyway. get her a little bird, ya know, like the african elephants have. and it'll sit on your dogs back all day and eat all your dogs fleas n stuff that make her itch. alternatively, change her shampoo.

My dog almost scratched himself bald from allergies. The vet tried everything but I hated the side effects and it did not work. I feed my dogs holistic foods so I decided to treat him with holistic treatment. And it has worked amazingly. My dog is not itching and there are no side effects. Try to find an all natural pet store in your area, you want to get products by Azmira. I use Yucca Intensive drops with Aller'g Free. They are completely natural. Or check out their website, www.azmira.com. I also tried every spray on the market and not a thing worked and then I found Richard's Organic's Incredible Skin Spray. This is the most amazing stuff. It too is all natural and stops the itching instantly. It also contains natural antibiotics to prevent infection. The combination of treatments were the only thing that worked. The Benedryl, the steroids and anything else the vets had did nothing to stop itching but did cause health problems. You could also try using a baking soda homemade spray or bathe it does offer relief fromt he scratching. For the spray mix 1-2 heaping teaspoons of baking soda with 8oz of water and spray on the areas.

This could be a food allergy, if you're feeding an inexpensive corn based food try upgrading to a rice based food from a pet or feed store.
It could also be an allergy to something in the environment, including your dog shampoo! (If you're using human shampoos stop immediately, much too drying.) There are soothing, medicated shampoos you can get, try that. And it only takes one flea to get them itching. When you treated the dog did you also treat the lawn and the carpet? That's where fleas live and breed. And even if you treated those areas, when you take a walk or go to the park, the fleas just hitchhike along.
If you can't resolve it with the vet you have, try another vet. I've had very different experiences with a broad range of vets til I finally found the one I have now who I really like.
Good luck!

Have you given the house a flea bath? Not to be funny but those little critters are really hard to get rid of. You can de-bug the dog all you want but if they are still in the house, they'll just keep going for the poor dog. Her bedding is the first place to start. Also, are there any noxious plants that she may be getting into, inside or outside? If this is not the problem then consider adding some herbal oils to her diet. It may be a case of dry skin that can be treated from the inside out. Best of luck...

Im sad to hear that, poor thing. Have you changed her bed? or washed her bedding. Has her diet been changed, has she been eating anything that contains nuts or milk products Like you said, its sounds like an allergy or maybe eczema. Seems you should try a different vet, he is clearly not doing enough for her.Im not sure if these tablets are doing her any good. Try if you can to get a second opinion. It could be a due the graze, maybe bacteria has got into her blood system? Good luck.

Has your vet checked your dog's thyroid? It's possible that it is under-active (symptoms include dry skin, obesity, dull coat). Also, you might want to add some fish oil or Linotone or Vitacoat or some other liquid containing Omega 3. Good luck.

Rub some baby powder into the skin all over the dog. It will take away the itching.

8-in-1 Pet Products makes a "Coal Tar Shampoo" that work's excellent for things such as seborrhea, eczema and other dermatitis problems..

But make sure you are not giving your dog a bath too often as that can dry out their skin and cause itching..
