Dogs - January 2007

my dog loves to hide under my parents bed, but when we try to take him out, or even touch him while he is under, he starts snarling and barking and biting. It is hilariouse to people watching, but not to the people getting bitten. How do i stop this behaviour?

My dog is 3 months old and he chooses sometimes to listen to my older siblings and I but sometimes he chooses not to obey us. We are in the training class but he still seems to think he's the dominant one when it comes to playing with him or when we try to pick him up. We are using the techniques learned in the class but he still growls and snaps at us when we try teaching him his commands.

Its a girl. She's tiny, she will get up to six pounds. She is a creamy tan color with a white line on her head. She's a Chi-weenie: Chihauhau and Dachshaund mix. (spelling may be bad. SORRY!)

I have tried EVERYTHING on my dogs! Collers, lemon, frontline, flea baths, salt, carpet powder, EVERYTHING! It has come down to bombing the hosue. I don't like poisions, is there a natural flea bomb?

Whats the difference between a Cardigan and Pembroke welsh corgi besides the tail? The only difference I see in them is that the Pembroke's have short tails and the Cardigans have long tails, is there any other difference?

I want a lazy dog. One that's about the size of a chihuahua. I don't care how long or short the coat is but I want it to be like a lap dog. I don't want a pomeranian, bichon frise, or yorkie.

Princess with a friend of ours dog. Then 2 days later she came up missing when we let her out that night to use the bathroom.We raised her from a puppy and we know she loves and she never tried to run away , we have left her out all night sometimes and she never came up missing or was out of the yard.Do you think the person we mated her with stole her or she ran away ?

but my husband doesn't want to get rid of him. No one wants to deal with him anymore such as take him out for his walk or to use the washroom, or play with him. I'm pregnant right now and just don't feel like doing anything for him, i want to find him a good home with someone who will have time for him. My dog had parvo last year, When I took him to the vet, he said my dog had 30% chance to survive, i took him home. My husband looked up on the internet and found a few things to help. Try pedialite mix it with corn syrup and most important of all antibiotics, every half hr. I did this for 1wk. My dog survived and is alive and healthy.Use a syringe and shoot it as far down his throat as you can, Hold his head back to make sure he swallows it all. You should get good results(hopefully) in about a week.

I am a foster mom to two 4 week old golden retriever girls. I have been bottle feeding them since they were a week old. The person that is taking them has bought my supplies and is buying hartz replacement formula. About 3 days ago I noticed one of the girls has a bump on her leg followed by what looks like dry skin then today I noticed the second girl has the dry skin on her front
paw. From what I have read from this website and others the dry skin could be from their diet. The dry skin doesn't seem to be spreading. I have a golden myself and he is very healthy. I haven't let them play in grass because I didn't want them getting sick. the owner took them to a park but said she kept
them on a blanket. I have now started trying to introduce semisolid foods into their diets for hope that there are more omega 3 fatty acids in the food than formula. I'm not sure what to do about their skin. It doesn't seem to be bothering them.

she is a german shep./husky mix and is verry skittish, but i need her not to be so she has a purpose in my parents eyes (they hate her! mostly my grandma) but she is an exlent dog! she walks perfictly loves the kids (and just about everyone). but when someone comes into the gate...she hides..
