I want a lazy dog. One that's about the size of a chihuahua. I don't care how long or short the coat is but I want it to be like a lap dog. I don't want a pomeranian, bichon frise, or yorkie.

No dog is completely lazy; they all need and want exercise to some degree.
Some you might want to consider are:

Toy Poodle
Chihuahua
Maltese
Dachshund
Havanese
Shih-Tzu
Lhasa Apso
Pug
Papillon

Or some other small dogs are:

Please make sure you read up on any breed you consider buying because all dogs have health problems and need special requirements (grooming, exercise etc.).

If you contact your local Shelter or Humane Society, or go to petfinder.com - you can find a new "lazy" friend, and make a rescue at the same time. Mutts (or cross-breeds) are often the best and healthiest dogs for most people - no inbred health problems.

And, the majority of people like dogs that can play with kids, so finding a lazy one should be easy. At petfinder.com, you can see a dog that appeals to you in your area, e-mail or call the place that has him/her, and find out everything you need to know before you even meet the dog. The Shelter people usually know the dogs well, since they bathe, treat, feed, and exercise them. Then once you meet and know the chemistry is right, it's all love and kisses, and snuggly time from then on...

The laziest dog Ive seen is a Bassett Hound.. Most of all Dogs are hyper.. Its going to be hard to find a lazy dog.. You might as well go to a shelter and go from there.. Cause if you get a puppy they are so hyper and they can play all day long without gettin tired:) Good Luck

There is no such thing as a lazy dog. If you are only looking to get a lazy lap dog then get a stuffed animal. All dogs need to be walked every single day for atleast 30 minutes. They ALL need to be exercised everyday. If you are looking to get a lazy dog it is because you want to be lazy. I do not recommend a dog for you if you are too lazy to walk it every single day and provide it with daily exercise. You should look into a cat. They are lazy and are lap animals.

A dog is not for you.

If you want a calm dog i would suggest going to the shelter and adopting a adult dog. The people at the shelter can help you choose the dog that is right for you. If you don't want a shelter dog I would go for a pug. They are small and usually laid back.
