oh my god my dog just ate half of a condom..what is going to happen i am so scared

OK some people will say this question is a joke , but it happened to me. My dog swallowed an entire condom. The next night I was having a tupperware party with 14 people sitting in my living room and in walks the dog, scoots its but across the carpet, stands up and the condom is hanging out. 100% absolutely true ( and it was still intact!) Talk about embarrassing So , just wait , it will come out eventually.

If it is a large or medium breed dog, he should be okay. But if it a small breed you may have some trouble. I would just keep an eye on him and if he starts acting lethargic, vomits, refuses to eat, or has diarrhea I would call the vet. He shouldn't suffer any long term affects as long as it passes okay and their digestive system is pretty simple (especially compared to other types of animals) and very similar to ours. By the way, next time you catch him eating something that he shouldn't give him about 1/4 - 1 cup of hydrogen peroxide. It will make him vomit what he ate back up, so then you at least don't have to worry.

your dog will be fine.in a day or to you maybe will see it again.i have had a dog eat any thing it could get,but the only time he had trouble was a sock.as little as a half condom is,it will pass.just give it a few days

ok, calm down. if your dog senses that you are afraid, he will get scared too. call your vet and get his opinion because chances are that won't pass through your dogs system. you need to act fast though becauase they may have to make him throw it up. just call your vet, and if they are closed, call an emergency vet hospital. good luck and remeber stay calm.

why would you leave a condom where your dog could get to it?
the only reason i think a dog would even eat it is if it was used...and if it was please take better care of you dog or take it to the shelter
