they are nice dogs and are not large and would make a nice house dog. l heard that beagles would pick up on a scent and track it down, l really do not know why. they were hunters of small game. but l do not know if they are taught that or if it is bred in them. a friend had one and it use to stray away from her home. so may be it was not train right. check that out because like l said l am not that sure. any way good luck.

Beagles are great with kids! My Grandpa use to get a litter every summer for us kids to play with, then he'd sell them as pets for kids and get us a new litter to spoil the next summer! There isn't a puppy much cuter than a beagle!

Beagles are very even tempered, fairly smart dogs. I was raised with one and I played and played with it. Never had a problem. They do like to be outdoors and are hunting/tracking dogs. Be sure you have a fenced yard so that he can get out and run and if he picks up a scent, be sure he can't get out.

We once had a beagle! He was the best fog I have ever had. He was...13? When he died but YES! They are GREAT Dogs to have. OUrs was named dandee...*sigh* He died and after we were done moaping around we went out and got annother she is so full of energy..totally adorable though! But my answer..Y.E.S.! She/He will fit in great with any family.

NO! My boyfriend has a beagle and it gets into the garbage in both the kitchen and bathroom. It jumps on the table and when you try taking anything away from it he bites you.

yes, this dog r very playful and have lots of patience with kids. my sister has 2 beagles and a 2 year old boy.

A begale is a great dog to get. You should get it as a puppy and raise it to like little kids.
