I am getting ready to get a
Yorkie that will be 15 1/2 weeks. Is that too old to purchase one? Will it be able to adjust to my family?

Your pup will do just fine , that is an excellent age and your Yorkie should adjust very nicely.

I have a male yorkie that we adopted from a friend that left him outside all day with no attention at all. It was the best thing we ever did, for him and for us. Teddy Bear is the most lovable, warm, smart and funniest dog I've ever had. He can be timid towards strangers and gets scared if you raise your voice but that is because of the way he ways treated earlier. You will love your Yorkie believe me! They are frendly, warm and love to be cuddled and patted. They are also very smart and are great watch dog..very protective dogs.

Get ready to fall in love! Yorkies are the sweetest and smartest little dogs. Actually that is a great age, they are good with kids
I've had two (died of old age). One of ours was so smart we had to spell in front of him. He loved to hunt squirrels,
he could kill mice better than any cat.
Oh now I want another Yorkie.....

15 weeks isn't too old at all. people adopt dogs from the pound that are 6 and 7 years old and they adapt just fine. also, i have a yorkie and they are great dogs. you should have nothing to worry about.

No dog is ever too old to be bought. And, Yorkies go great with families. My friend has one and it's the sweetest thing ever. Best of luck with the dog!

He will be fine. You missed the early attachment period, but as long as he was with humans during the first couple months, he attach to you normally. Plus, he may have had more time with his littermates, which means better bite inhibition (less mouthing your hands).
