EVERYONE feels different. I feel that a high quality dog food that is nutritionally balanced is best for you dog. Everyone recommends different dog foods, and everyone has their reasons why their pick is best, and other people picks are wrong. But i feel that the Nutro Max is a great food. That is what the people i work with feed their dogs, and that is what i feed my cats. It really makes a difference in their coat and skin.

Ugh... I don't really know which is better. There are a lot of strange byproducts in commercial dog food though. We tend to go for the holistic and natural dog food for our dog. For one, that was all that wouldn't upset her stomach.
I will say that when I dog-sat for a friend, they had their Shepherd puppy on a raw diet. It requires a lot more forethought than a kibble diet. Not to mention the stuff smelled terrible. I personally found the stuff disgusting. What was more upsetting to me though was that the dog always had soft, poorly formed stool. But, every dog will respond to their food differently. What works for some will not work for others; what's best for some may not be for others.
I would say speak with a vet about the advantages and disadvantages to a raw diet. Remember to keep your commitment to either feeding system in your decision-making. Consider cost, preparaiton time, what happens if you must kennel the dog, etc.

There is no definitive answer to this question. Some people swear by it, but most vets agree that high quality kibbles provide more than adequate nutrition. One thing's for sure, raw is more expensive and time consuming for the owner! I guess if you have unlimited time and resources, have at it, but I have to work for a living, so my guy gets high-end kibble.

Yes it is better IF done correctly with the proper balance of meat & bone or bone meal. If interested you should learn more by reading articles & books by Dr. Tom Longsdale and Dr. Ian Billinghurst. You also should join some of the natural feeding groups.
Raw feeding isn't for everyone and it needs to be done correctly..if you don't have time, don't know how to do it correctly, don't have access to fresh meats and bones then a good quality kibble like Canidae, Chicken Soup for the Dog Lover's Soul, Innova, Solid Gold among others would be your best bet.

the above is a couple websites for you..................
the raw diet has made my dogs so healthy, in fact they NEVER have any health problems of any kind...................
there is good kibble on the market like canidae, wellness, solid gold, innova, california natural, it is expensive, but worth it.........
the stuff u buy at the grocery store even the vets office are so full of junk that is more harmful to peoples dogs than they realize.

That depends on what you mean by "raw". If you mean, meat then it's no... Good premium kibble is the best thing for dogs. There are less preservatives then in tinned food and the dogs teeth and gums will be a lot healthier.

Feeding raw meat to a house dog is asking for dietary disaster. That is something you feed to huskies out on the tundra, where they need thousands of calories just to stay warm and active. Or out on the plains, where a dog can run all day long without getting into trouble. This means: don't feed it to a poor creature tied up to a pole in the back yard all the time. If that's the dog you have, please have mercy and donate it to the Humane Society.

No. There are many diseases that dogs can get from raw food and it is much harder to ensure that the dog is getting all of the nutrients that it needs. I think that dry kibble is better, especially the ultra-premium brands. The dry food companies spend billions of dollars each year to make sure that they are nutritionally complete, so they must have their dry foods at least pretty close to what they dog needs.

Put this out on a serious dog hobbiest list & the resulting avalance of mail will bury you. May people feel strongly each way - if you try raw, make SURE you have a good book to find out supplemants & portions to the diet so its reasonalbly balanced.
