We adopted our English Bulldog 2 years ago. She is now 6. She was a breeder dog before she was spayed. She is let out often, well cared for and won't urinate on everything. It seems it's her crate and soft blankets. We tried making her crate smaller, didn't help. We had her checked at the vet. No problems there. We found out Ally had this problem before we adopted he. What do I do!

How big is her crate? They do not need anything bigger than a 30 inch long crate, especially if you are still potty and crate training her. If your crate is bigger than that you can try using a divider panel (they come with most wire crates) or even a large piece of cardboard to make it smaller.

For the blankets, it is possible that the breeder raised the puppies on blankets as bedding and because of that you dog thinks that it is okay to potty on them. I would just try to keep them where she cannot get to them to urinate. Also if she is having a lot of accidents it may be helpful to pee pad train her so that she can go when she needs to go.

Did your vet do a urinalysis and blood work to rule out any problems? It is possible that she is having kidney or bladder problems. Also, it is possible since she was a breeding dog that the urination is cause from damage caused by the c-sections, especially if she is doing it in her sleep. My vet told me that it can be a problem caused by the c-section when I discussed it with him before I bred my dog.

I would go get some of the washable pee pads and absorbent crate mats (you can get them at petsmart and many online dog supply companies). These will not stop the problem, but they will help keep the dog dry and make the cleanup easier.

we have a bulldog and the vet told us she was marking her territory or she was not aware of it when she was asleep. or when we left her home for the day she would do it because she was angry.
