Hmmm. We had an elderley collie X who had a similar problem. The vet said that, if the dog is peeing at least a little, then it's probably a urinary infection or something related. If the dog isn't peeing at all then it could be a problem with the rear legs that is making it difficult for the dog to crouch. Don't know how this relates to your do - sex and age etc. In fact this might be no help at all. Useless *****, aren't I?

I would check to see if your dog has a temperature and probably needs to go to the vet. Its not normal for them to go for 24 hrs. without urinating.

Take your dog to the vet, ASAP. There could be an infection.

He probably has a urinary tract infection. He needs to see the vet first thing tomorrow morning!

yeah it does sound like an infection.....you need to take him to the vet....but today you can give him some cranberry concentrate (it is safe for cats and dogs) and maybe that will help.
