i want to get my best friend in a dog. what types of dogs should i look for. labs, goldens,boxer?

what should i do......my dog is a mix between a rotwiler and a pitbull...hes a fat *** and he is stronger then any other dog ive ever seen....BUT HE HATES WATER....HES A WIMP WHEN IT COMES TO WATER..he hasnt taken a bath in two years...im afraid of my own dog because he is loseing his trust in me....one time he got hit by a car..but he was fine...THE CAR HOWEVER BROKE ITS FRONT LIGHT COMPLETLY.......i dont know what else to do with him...but still yet i love him.....what should i do to try to shower him?

My dog is about 5 years old......he was an outside dog, and my fiancee insisted he came inside once we moved....he has been indoors now for alittle over a year.. he doesnt listen to anything...constantly barks at people......would run away if he had the chance.......he just doesnt listen at all

I have a deaf dog. Recently, she has started jumping up to the edge of the counter, and the edge of the table. usually to try and get food. any tips on how to stop this behavior, and how to punish it, when it happens?

our vet used some comon tool perhaps tweezers and grabbed a few hairs in the canal and turned it round andround it gathered more hair and she simply pulled them out . I'd like to know what that tool mihgt have been or some ideas to reach that hair that i cannot reach with fingers. then I believe she gave a recipe of vinegar and water to use with a q-tip to clean the ear.

they are on the way to this show where Mo had to be beautifully conditioned and he pees in his crate and rolls in it, he thinks it is some kind of game, we think its a sick fetish. Beautiful flowing coat that reeks of urine. He kinda enjoys his poo too.

he was very good until he was 10 months, he would go on his wee-wee pad at all times. now, all he does is go on the carpet and pees all over, before he would also poop n the wee-wee pad, now he is also starting to poop in the carpet, like if it wasn't enough that he's already peeing. what should I do??? help!!!

I am crate training my pup. What is the best thing to put in her crate? I have been using training pads, she pees in it but don't poop. She is 8 weeks old and she is in the crate for 9 hours plus before I get home after work. I'm sure she will grow out of this, but was wondering is this normal? I don't remember my last pup doing this. Before I go to work I take her out and she drinks just a couple of sips of water befoeI leave her for the day. Are the pads good to use or not. Any advise to make her stop peeing in her crate?

I have 3 week old puppies...the mother is starting to be VERY neglectful...we have to force her just to feed them! I'm not sure what to do anymore, they're teeth are coming in but I know they're still to young to digest regular food. Is there something I can substitute their mother's milk for since she basically doesn't want anything to do with them!? Please help....

I have Hippo, a lab/terrier/adorable mix who is about 6 months old. I have had her for about a month now and she has learned to 'sit', 'shake', 'down' and to stay in her kennel while I am away. I am still working on trying to help with how protective she is of me (we think she's got a little bit of schnauzer in her) and with her barking at passersby from the apartment balcony. Reading different methods, I notice that many magazines and other articles suggest frequent treating as a way to get the dog to do what you want. I was wondering what kind of treat I can use that won't make her sick if she is given more than usual. I need a treat I can easily carry around with me, but I am mostly concerned with my puppy's health. Help me!

I have two 4.5 month old Pit bull puppies, and I'm getting somewhat concerned because the city where I live requires dogs to have a license. The problem is that I'm planning on getting them neutered until they reach 7 months of age. My question is if I'm going to have any problems if I don't get them a dog license by then, or how does it really affect not having one??...who will ask me for it anyways? or how do city officials (animal control) will even know if my puppies have a license or not..??

It's about dime-sized and she may poop it out okay. I don't want to take her to the Emergency Vet right now because she seems fine. Should I wait a couple of days to see if she passes it?

my daughter has a dog that has learned to climb the fence and now we have to keep her tied. We thought if we tied her for a while she would stop but no we let her lose for a while and she climbed the fince but doesn' t know to climb back in the fence. She doesn't run away or after anything . and she is in an acre of yard. What can we do to break her?

Uugghh! My neighbors wont bring there dogs in tonight.................?
and its going to be really cold tonight like 25. Are they heartless?
i live in Sacramento CA and its never this cold so its not like the dogs are use to this weather. They do have dog houses but come on do they really work?
