Deaf dogs are an extremely difficult case. I hope you have been going to classes and learning how to communicate to your dog through hand signals. Once you are able to get it to do a good sit/stay command, this is what you do when you are at the table. Try to give the command before your dog jumps up on the table edge. Head him off at the pass. Praise him with a treat when he does it and sits politely. If he is just going bonkers and will not stop jumping up, a time out is probably the way to go. Take your leash, loop it on a door handle and shut the door on the leash. If your dog needs a time out, put him on the leash for 30 seconds to a minute. Much longer than that and he will forget why he is in the penalty box.

I hope this helps. Good luck!

First, you really need to stop feeding your dog people snacks. What starts the begging and jumping is when you or other family members throw food to the dog while you are eating. If your dog follows other commands, like sit and stay it will be easier to break the habit.

When the dog starts the behavior, tell it no, move it away from the table and make it stay. You need to do this everytime or it won't work. The no is harsh and when the dog is begging. No need to hit the dog or scream. Be sure to praise him when he is being good and not begging.

There are these devices that make beeping noises the dogs dont like when the area is touched but I dont know if they work. My dogs used to put their paws on the counter but it's just a matter of catching them in the act and telling them a stern no and push them down. That worked for me

at one point or another ....she got rewarded for jumping up to the table (or counter) ....from now on I would separate her from the lure of it ....until you were done w/ whatever function .....after a time she will realize that her behavior separates her from your function .....this she'll want to earn back ......
