my daughter has a dog that has learned to climb the fence and now we have to keep her tied. We thought if we tied her for a while she would stop but no we let her lose for a while and she climbed the fince but doesn' t know to climb back in the fence. She doesn't run away or after anything . and she is in an acre of yard. What can we do to break her?

They sell a harness that keeps the dog from jumping at all, wether it be on you, a door, or a fence. It only impedes the dog from jumping. Use it for a while and it should work. It did for us. The neighbor had the same problem and went with the invisible fence. When we saw the dog get shocked from going to close to the fence it broke our hearts. Don't go that route.

If you can catch the dog in the process of jumping the fence, with a correction collar this behavior can be corrected. It may take a least a week or so to really correct it, but it is worth the time. Good luck!

The only fence we have found that our chihuahuas won't climb or dig out from under is a wooden privacy fence.

I would try a 6 foot, wooden privacy fence. I doubt she'd be able to climb that.

there are so many nice wooden Private fences and you could even add hanging flower baskets all over them and they are really a beautiful accent to your home.
