When iI raise my voice to my sheltie, or give him an order,he turns his head to the side and looks at his weiner. It looks so funny,he'll touch it with his nose. It looks like he is saying to his weiner," did you hear what she said to us" lol

Why do some dogs need this, and others don't? Is there any way I can do this myself? The vet charges me twenty dollars each time, and it only takes a technician a few minutes, and she's finished. My dog seems to be quite unhappy, and she drags her behind when she needs to be expressed, about every other week.
Only serious caring answers, please.

Do you know what products really work? Do you know which ones can cause allergic reactions and kill your pet?

Do you know how to treat your home so that it is safe for your pets to be there? Do you know how long that you must be out of your home after the treatment?

Do you know how many people really don't know the answers to these questions and put themselves in the hospital and there pets in the ground?

A question a minute ago about folks mis-representing themselves here on Answers made me wonder:

What would you do if you knew someone was lying about their dog experience here in a BIG way? No, a HUGE way. If you knew this person claimed multiple AKC titles for a dog that were impossible?

There is someone here who is doing just that.

Does it bug you? Do you care?

I personally don't care if your dog is has a title, a pedigree or even a tail, you shouldn't have to lie about your dog to make it sound special.

It does irk me a bit to see someone boasting about phony achievements with their dog. It also bothers me to see someone using a string of fake credentials to support their canine advice.

So, does it bother anyone else? Would you contact the faker and let them know you know?

I have a 1 year old Mini Dachshund who this past october was neutered. No he has a problem with taking a leak when he gets excited, gets a bath, plays, unknown reasons. Is there something that can be done other than going to the vet. I am not rich and this poor dog cost me lotsa money before, because he is also a parvo survivor.

that no one really knows who is who on here? I mean, those of us who have been here a while have a good idea of who's full of sh!t and who knows what they're talking about, but for the new people?

How many kids are on here taking the advice that sounds the easiest but isn't necessarily the best because they don't know any better?

I think it's scary. Don't you? (Especially when the questions are about sick or injured dogs.)

I have a yorkshire terrier/ toy poodle mix. I've heard so many different suggestions. One vet seriously said 3 times a year, but that is just gross. My dog tends to smell bad often, and I have already asked the vet why. He just has grows his fur really quickly and plays outside a lot. Any suggestions?

I am 21 and have loved all animals since i knew what they were. I've been dying to have a dog ALL my life. But i can not afford one at this point, and i also live in an apartment. Although they allow dogs, they have breed restrictions, and i also feel that an apartment is not adequate for a large breed dog. And i want a large breed dog. I have done my research, and i plan to rescue all of my pets in the future. I also work at a vet clinic, and seeing dogs and puppies everyday helps. But it is killing me not having my own, i want a dog so bad it hurts. Does anyone else feel this way? Or have you felt this way before you got your dog?

I have been training my lab since she was 7 weeks old to be a waterfowl retriever. She does great on whistle commands when in close (less than 10ft) but does not immediately respond to the "sit" blast when working out away from me. I have to blast several times plus yell "SIT ! !" to get her to respond. When she responds she sits very well. I want her to react quicker. She can take hand commands such as back, left and right once she sits. She retrieves great, comes to heel great, delivers to hand and all but she is struggling with sitting on my command. She will STAY as long as I want her to also. This is frustrating me as it is hampering her training.

We live in Northeast Alabama and it sometimes gets below freezing here. We have a 13 year old black lab that lives outside. He sleeps in an insulated doghouse with plastic doors filled with blankets and hay. The doghouse is also under our carport. Is he staying warm enough or am I just worrying too much? I thought about those doggie warmer things from Petco but they seem so expensive and I really dont want anything that you plug up in a doghouse. If I fill up a gallon jug with hot water and put a lid on it will it help? Any other ideas?
