I just spoke with a woman with the cutest dog ever. She said it was a Pometon. I asked what that was - she said a cross between a Pomeranian and a ______?? I can't remember the name, but it was long (maybe 3 words) and sounded French. She said it is similar to the Bichon Frise....I can't find out anything about this.... can someone please help?

We recently found an american bulldog. checked by a vet he is approx. 8-10 months, very well taken care of. He is very friendly, playful and partially trained. Until we find him a good home I am afraid of exposing him to my grandchildren and my 15 yr old small dog who is the alpha. Should I be concerned?

They want a small dog like 10-15 pounds. Minimal to no sheding. Doesnt need a big yard, easy to train, and of course loving and a good house dog.

Hello, I just adopted a stray from the shelter.

I adopted her to be a companion for my current dog. Who is a Akita mix (black & tan w/ a black face) named Captain Jack Sparrow.

She is about 4 months old, very short & stocky. little legs big belly (but strangely not over weight) all black w/ a thick coat. Golden Retriever mix (believe it or not, nobody has a clue what with & she barely look like a golden retriever. Has a Retriever attitude but with a little more gumption. Super friendly loves everyone.

I have no idea for a name. I'd like it to go with my first dogs name. We were thinking Miss. Swan, but the problem is she's not tall long legged & beautiful. She's short, stocky & unattractive to be honest. (Don't get upset she's as cute as a button but...really not an attractive animal. But I love her just the same.)

So I'm picking her up tomorrow tell me what you think would be a good name for this dog!!!

Thank you!

I Want to start taking my dog for walks. Its part german shepherd, part chow.Over 10 months old. Looks full grown almost. Whenever i put a leash on him, he immediately lays down and looks up at me with sad puppy eyes. I know hes bored being stuck in the backyard and will bolt from the yard if a gate were left open. Im trying to give him a chance to do some exploring. Any advice?

She is two years old and looks like a scruffy mutt. Her hair isn't flowy and long, and her ear hair is barely longer than the rest. She has a "puppy face" and a shorter snout. I was wondering if she might not be full papi? I got her from a breeder so I assume she is, but is it normal for her coat to not be full?

Hi everyone ,i have a nearly 3 month old cavalier king charles called oliver,The question i am asking is we are tellimg him off alot ,just saying no to alot of the things he is doing cause obviously hes gotta learn ,we are giving him loads of cuddles and naps on our laps because we love him to bits, but sometimes he shys away from us ,although in the mornings he goes crazy wanting us to pick him up ,hes only like that first thing in the morning ,do you think its because we are telling him off ,we only shout no and he does as he is told ,or is it cause he is getting more confidence and dont want picked up all the time ,he will sit near you but if you try and pick him up he runs ,and how long will he sleep for roughly ,i leave him for a couple of hours to go to the gym in the morning ,he goes in his crate he seems ok never had a problem with him being in there but i know these kind of dogs dont like to be left long ,is this ok ,

I have a 9m old pug.bostonterrier. Shes a sweetheart, she isnt aggressive at all and shes very lovable. However, shes always jumping on everyone especially when someone first enters a room. Her nails arent long, but they are very sharp so it hurts when she jumps. Its impossible to sit down because shes always jumping in your face, and licking. When I push her down or scold her, she just keeps jumping onto me. I was told to ignore her and just pretend she isnt there when she does it, but that just seems to make it worse.
I walk her twice a day for a half hour each day, and she has a fenced yard that she goes outside to play in.
Is there anything I can do to help her calm down so that when I walk into a room or when someone new comes over she isnt jumping all over them?

hello there!!

i'm near Toronto, Ontario. I have a 3 year old, 2.5lbs, not-registred chihuahua female and am looking to bvreed her for the first time, since having a litter of puppies will help to prolong a dogs life, etc, etc. Anyways, i'm wondering what are some common "regional" policies regarding this? I have come up with a few scenarios:

(1) little money up front and second choice of litter.

(2) stud fee up front

(3) half stud fee up front, then more when she is determined to be pregnant.

(4) first pick of litter. no stud fee's.

Maybe none of these are good policies, my concern with an upfront fee is then there is "nothing in it" for the stud owner to "assure" she becomes pregnant.

Would love any help or suggestions!!

Will asiign "BEST CHOICE" when quesiton is closed......ty

I have a Boxer puppy. No change in food. No changes in anything like soap or anything. Today, she just starting breaking out in hives. I dropped cookie dough on the floor earlier and she got to it before I did. Could it be the peanuts or peanut butter?
