I have five cats and a jack russell. My Dog is such a sweetie. She's a bit hyper, but she's so loving! How do I get my five cranky cats to accept her?

ALL IN GOOD TIME.........BUT THEN AGAIN, YOUR CATS MAY NEVER "LIKE" YOUR DOG BUT THEY WILL LEARN TO TOLERATE YOUR DOG--I HAVE 3 DOGS AND 2 CATS, MY OLDEST CAT IS 16 YEARS OLD-I HAVE MY HOUSE SECTIONED OFF WITH GATES-1 SIDE IS THE CAT SIDE AND THE OTHER IS THE DOGS SIDE-IF SHE FEELS LIKE IT, SHE COMES INTO THE DOG AREA AND PUTS UP WITH THEM-THEN GOES BACK TO HER SIDE WHEN SHE'S HAD ENUF--SHE DOES LET THEM LICK HER ON THE HEAD NOW AND THEN. MY 1 YR OLD CAT ACTUALLY THINKS HE'S A DOG BUT WAS JUST A KITTEN WHEN I GOT HIM SO THE DOGS WERE ALREADY HERE WHEN I BROUGHT HIM HOME AND HE HANGS WITH THE DOGS ALL THE TIME.

You can't force animals to get along like you can't force people to get along. All you can do is be patient. Usually when a cat and dog don't grow up together they won't get along. We have a dog and three cats. Our oldest cat pretty much grew up with our dog but he gets along with the other two just fine since he loves them a lot. All I can say is wait and be patient and see if they get used to one another and then maybe they'll get along.

they will in time. With the Jack Russell being hyper isn't helping the matter but patience is your only option

YOU DONT GIVE ENOUGH INFO
HOW LONG HAVE THEY BEEN TOGETHER
THEY MAY BE JEALOUS
FIVE CATS AGAINST ONE DOG
WHAT DO YOU EXPECT
USUALLY THE BEST WAY FOR ALL ANIMALS TO ACCEPT EACH OTHER IS TO HAVE THEM AS BABIES AND THEY GROW UP WITHOUT ANY FUSS

Sorry, but you CAN'T make animals like each other. Either they do, or they don't.
