No it won't. Spaying is a great idea, it protects your dog from cancer and infections! The only thing that could possibly happen is that a small percentage of spayed females have trouble with urinary incontinence, but it's not much of a problem when you compare it to the other things that could happen (mammary or uterine cancer, pyometra, unwanted puppies, living with a dog in heat) Kudos to you for spaying her!!!!

I think that the dog's temperament will change only if you begin treating the dog differently. That was definitely the case with me. After my dog was spayed and then had to have another surgery 3 months after due to bladder stones everyone showed her how much they loved her more than before. We spent more time with her and made sure she was healing okay. This changed her attitude. She became more loving and wants to spend lots of her time just being next to us. All her other habits remain pretty much the same. Also, her weight did not change after she was spayed.

I don't know, I am having my cat spayed next week and I was wondering the same thing. I was also worried about her being in a lot of pain.

Some vets say that it will make them lazy, but I am not really sure. I have also heard that you have to watch their weight because after being spayed they eat a lot but don't exercise as much.

Temperament/personality does NOT change because of spay/neuter...it is waht it is for the life of the dog..period!! All spay/neuter does is remove hormonal driven behaviors.

Depends on her temperment going in.

My German Shepherd was protective before spaying and became just a touch more so after the operation.
She'd never been openly agressive before or after -- by any means -- but she does keep a sharper eye on strangers.

usually all it will do will make her docile, calmer and more relaxed,(dont worry she wont turn into a vegitable!shell still be the same lovely dog im sure she is!)it shouldnt make her turn horrible,if it does id ask a vet if shes ok and not in any discomfort.

It can, but not by much. some get more cuddley some aren't so hyper. Just watch she doesn't gain to much weight once she's spayed.

There's a good chance that it will make her calmer. But every dog is an individual, and so the effects vary.
