if you flick a dog in the nose does it feel the same as a person getting punched in the face to them?

Yes, it really hurts a dog, but it also helps to train them its better then kicking them or hitting them thats even worse.

I would never do that to a dog. If he is being disobedient get a news paper and give him a Little whack with that. It won't hurt them but the noise scares them and it works very well. I don't think you would like to be flicked in the nose and the dog is very sensitve on the nose. You should get a book on dogs and read the articles about discipline. Best of luck with you pet.

The becomes more loyal because it is now afraid of the one that flicked it the nose, like a person becomes more loyal to the one that punched them in the face because they are afraid.

well, experiment! flick yourself on the nose twice as hard as you would a dog, because they're twice as small as you. ask yourself, does this hurt? anyway, why would you want to flick as dog's nose?

that is so cruel, it would hurt like hell to a dog their noses are very sensitive. don't flick doggie in the nose. use a rattle can...noise is plenty to distract and discourage unwanted behavior.

Dogs' noses are really sensitive, so, yes it hurts them a lot. I don't agree that it's a good way to train them. It's cruel. You want your dog to love and respect you, not to fear you.

I don't know, but my 7 week old puppies have quit peeing on the floor. If it hurt them that bad, I imagine they would yelp like they do when you spank them.
