Hello, I just adopted a stray from the shelter.
I adopted her to be a companion for my current dog. Who is a Akita mix (black & tan w/ a black face) named Captain Jack Sparrow.
She is about 4 months old, very short & stocky. little legs big belly (but strangely not over weight) all black w/ a thick coat. Golden Retriever mix (believe it or not, nobody has a clue what with & she barely look like a golden retriever. Has a Retriever attitude but with a little more gumption. Super friendly loves everyone.
I have no idea for a name. I'd like it to go with my first dogs name. We were thinking Miss. Swan, but the problem is she's not tall long legged & beautiful. She's short, stocky & unattractive to be honest. (Don't get upset she's as cute as a button but...really not an attractive animal. But I love her just the same.)
So I'm picking her up tomorrow tell me what you think would be a good name for this dog!!!

Being as she's a companion, she could be Smee Bee. Smee was Hook's companion, and all-around go-fer. Or Pheobe -pronounced Phee be, could add a Miss to that I had a little she was skinney, not quite pretty, whom I called Pickle Poo. She was a fiesty little one though, she loved to run the gunnels of a 26-ft canoe, that I used to help paddle. She met Phillip Cousteau, when he came to Minnesota, and made a film about the Mississippi, he called her "Little Red Beaver" she was wearing a red sweater. She was special.

a good dogs call is Sasha. i appreciate doing polls. Yay! good dogs names are Sasha, Bella, Ella, Macie, Grace, and Teddy. I used to continually make up a listing of dogs names and placed up them on my domestic dog crew on fb. i actually wish i'm getting perfect answer. another good names are Taya, Ali, Puff, and Boo.

Lizzy because that is short for Elizabeth, like Elizabeth from Pirates of Caribbean.

You should give her a name that's contradictory to her looks. Something like "Bernadette", or "Sophie" is a beautiful name. I think giving her a pretty name will help other people look past the way she looks. Good Luck!

I love dogs. I have a lab/retriever/hound/chow mix.
How about Miss Betty (for 'Ugly Betty') or
Oh Black Betty Bam Balam?
