Go to a PetCo or PetsMart (or their online stores). You can get anything on there practically. Get them a little Kong to chew on, a little bone to carry around, a little bed, a little crate, little food and water bowls, etc. You might also want to get the puppy a little outfit for when it's cold and a cute little collar.

(Sorry for the "little"'s, but I'm used to getting everything big for my yellow lab puppy, Chunk. He's like a horse.)

this is what i got my pomeranian puppy when i first got her:

-bed. blankets
-toys: stuffed animals, teething toys..ect
-Good quality small breed puppy dog food (not eukanuba/purina..ect)- look at ingredient list, foods with most meat is better. also look up best dog food on here to get a good idea. I use blue buffalo.
-food and water bowl
-crate: used for transport, going to the vet..ect
-indoor baby fence (to keep your puppy in one uncarpeted area before it is house broken- but also so it can see out, and doesn't feel isolated)
-shampoo/conditioner
-brushes
-nail trimmer, (but u can also have it done somewhere)
-rag for cleaning face, paws.
-cute leash and collar, tag with your address and phone number
-vet check! - flea meds, heart worm, shots, ...ect.

other than that, just have fun and enjoy your pup!

Water and food bowls........Collar and leash(might want to try a ferret collar at first).........Dog brush and nail clippers....Sweaters if you live where it is cold.......a crate..........a doggy bed.....puppy pads.....baby blankets for bedding......stuffed animals to play with.........Nylabones to chew on.......a carrier or pet taxi for trips to vet, etc(I prefer soft sided carriers)........The book Chihuahuas for Dummies(not calling you a dummy, but it is good for new chi owners........Good quality puppy food(we feed Nutro Ultra puppy. You have to buy it at the pet store)....Nutrical(a vitamin/mineral supplement that every chi owner should have to help ward off low blood sugar.......Lots and lots of love! Also if you don't have a vet, look for one. Ask friends and relatives to recommend one. Try to find one who has lots of experience with small breed dogs.......A first aid kit for dogs...........Make sure to follow thru with all puppy shots and checkups. It will need heartwoem preventative when old enough, Same with Frontline for fleas and ticks.

Great place to get supplies: Petedge.com

Anyhow: crate (in house and for travel), exercise pen, beds, toys (variety of sizes/shapes/textures), water bowl, food bowls, light-weight collar and leash (the clasp weight on the leash is very important...you want a small, light weight clasp), good quality food, toothbrush and dog tooth paste (they NEED their teeth brushed everyday), chews (I recommend C.E.T petite chews...they love them and they have toothpaste in them), nail clippers (get cat nail clippers), some form of basic brush (type depends on long or smooth coat; mine are smooths so I use a rubber curry type brush), a gentle dog shampoo (bath ONLY when dirty) and that's pretty much a good start.
