Were you prepared? Do you really want the dog? Do you know how to care for it, train it, what to feed it? Have you made an appointment with your vet yet?

Just curious....

Last night we were laying down watching TV and all of a sudden we heard our dog whine and we figured he was whining because we weren't pay much attention to him but he kept on for about 10 seconds straight. I called for him and he was limping. So I got him down from the bed and made him walk and his back leg was sort of "dead" and he didn't move it...just dragged it but didnt' whine or acted as if it hurt when we inspected it. He kept on playing and within 5 minutes he was back to walking normal. I am thinking maybe it was a cramp? Is that possible? I will tell the vet on his next check up but is it something maybe I should take more seriously? He's a 4 lbs, 9 month old- Chihuahua Mix.

Does a dog retain his sex drive even after he has been neutered? My daughter's small terrier mix has approached two spayed female dogs this past weekend and tried to mount each of them. They got the dog at an animal shelter about 4 months ago & were told he was neutered, & will have it checked out when they return home, but in the meantime, can someone explain? The dog is about 3 years-old & is very friendly and non-aggressive about everything else.

Right now I give her canned dog food(from the Vet) and milk replacement. She is a american bulldog mixed with a english bulldog and she is 4 weeks old. She just got out of the hospital a week ago, she was born with heartworms and had to have a blood tranfusion. She already has her puppy teeth so when would it be ok to give her dry dog food?

Ok, yesterday I posted a question about what the best dog food is to feed my new dog, all in all I got an answer of: So long as real meat is in the first 3 ingrediants, its a good brand. I bought Purina One, lamb is the first ingrediant.

Yay or nay?

we knew when she went into heat and planned for her to breed with our other dog, however we didn't think she had actually bred since we kept a close eye on her the whole time and saw nothing. now she is definately pregnant, but we dont know how far along she is. (i guess she bred while we weren't watching).

I have a 5 month old Japanese Chin. He is already paper trained and so far no accidents. He loves to stay home. But when i wanna walk him, he refuses to go out. He starts to shake. I usually end up carrying him a couple of blocks. Then when i put him down, he runs home waiting for me to open the door to go back in. Then he does his business at home on the paper. So can a dog stay home without being let outside?..since hes already paper trained.
