The dog that mounts is a shis tzu

Male dogs (and even female dogs, especially spayed ones) will try to mount other dogs (or one of our legs or a stuffed toy), because nature compels them to do so. Sometimes it is to show dominance. Sometimes it's just part of play that becomes a bit too 'exciting'. Other times It's a 'mis-fire'. Their hormones could be off due to being spayed/neutered or a scent has triggered their mating drive. It's not always caused by the same thing, and you need to consider what your dog was doing prior to mounting the other male: How were they interacting? Are either of them neutered? Has your dog ever mounted another dog inappropriately or an inanimate object?

Hope this helps. :)

This is not a sexual issue..........Dogs are pack animals. mounting each other (females will also act in this manner) is their way of establishing dominence.....He is trying to tell the other dog that he is the boss.........don`t react strongly, usually a firm no will suffice. they will also do it to humans as well..........

It is showing dominance toward the other dog. My female Jack Russell does it too. It is nothing sexual.

Your dog can smell another dog in heat. Namely a female and he can't help his animal urges so he tries to hump the next animal that comes along. It just happens don't worry about it.

To show (or try to gain) dominance over the other male. Unlike all the idiot gays that would have you believe otherwise.
