It's just a preference of your dog.
The two my adult dogs prefer not to wear a clothes, because that would, in effect, hurt them. They would be so hot and uncomfortable, they could possibly get heatstroke or something else heat-related. I think that their fur keeps them a lot warmer than any of us can imagine.
But is my new puppy is short-haired and he gets cold very easily, she shiver. I live in the Colorado and sweaters and coats would be a must for my Chihuahua to go outside in the winter.
Would you send your puppy out to shiver in the cold?!
Of course, not ..... look here:

Why do you want to clothe your dog? Yes it's cute but it's gotta serve a purpose too. The only time I put sweaters on my dog is whenever he goes outside really early in the morning or really late in the evening to use the bathroom and he c omes outside from warm to cold. You need to realize that it may be uncomfortable for the dog to wear clothes so just because it's cute he doesn't need to wear them.

I have #3 very small Chihuahua puppies. If you go to a pet store, I'm sure you can find something small enough to fit your dog. I have no problem finding clothes for my 15 week old Chihuahuas. You just have to look around. You can also search the net. Good Luck! Congratulations on your new puppy!

I really don't think that dogs enjoy getting mauled around being put into clothes as much as people enjoy dressing them up to be cute. But if you really want to, you might try getting some especially made.

Either feed the dog or wash the clothes in some really hot water.

I'm sorry, but you are going to hate my answer.
You have a dog, not a doll. This is an animal that is driven by instinct and pack behavior. You are going to create a neurotic dog. That will not only create problems for the dog, but for you also. Behavioral problems will ensue.
You need to learn about dog behavior and psychology and pattern your dog ownership skills on that level and not on that of Paris Hilton.

You must be talking about a doll ... I thought you wanted to know something about a dog! Snap out of it!!!! It's a dog, not a fashion model play thing!
