Pugs are one of the breeds prone to needing c-sections. Which is more dangerous & puts a lot of the pup's care (bottle feeding for 5+ weeks) on the breeder, FYI.

Pugs are generally not natural whelpers and need to birth by C-section.

Putting a dog under is always risky, and sections are very expensive as well, $1200 and up.

It's dangerous for ANY dog to be bred if the breeder doesn't know what he or she is doing.

Spay the dog - It sounds like it would be better for both of you.

Most smaller dogs are more likely to have a problem during birth.

Maybe that is why their faces are smooshy. Sorry needed a giigle.

Buddy breeds them and hasn't had a bit of problems... just had another batch around 4 weeks ago... makes some good money selling the pups, too.
