How can i stop my Dog from being a coward?

For whatever reason, your dog is insecure. Who knows why dogs "think" the way they do! He does not see you as the Alpha so he does not trust you.....yet. That is why he is scared of everything, once he sees you as Alpha he will know you will Handel things and will no longer be scared. This is not hard to fix with a couple of exercises. Some dogs are Alpha and some are not. I like the ones that are not, like yours, they are not hard to fix. An Alpha that does not see you as "pack" leader will get aggressive, a submissive dog that does not see you as the Alpha will get nervous or scared of everything. I am leaving you a link to go watch some (free) videos, as it is too hard to try to explain, but this is easily fixed and every dog can be fixed. The key is a calm assertive attitude. You never want to take a harsh tone with a scared dog, this will just scare him more. Patience, and lots of it! -Good luck-

If the dog is genetically weak, there is nothing you can do about it, but accept it. If the problem is environmental, and depending on how old your dog is, there may still not be much you can do about it, but, there may be some hope. Once a dog gets past the critical age of 8-16 weeks, without the proper socialization, it is really difficult to accomplish afterwards. Good luck with him.

Depends on the situation. My dog is scared of other dogs - she will hide behind me like a shy kid when other dogs are around. To combat this, we take her to dog parks, go on walks with a local dog walking group, etc. In general just try to get her exposed to other animals and situations. This has helped. You have to socialize animals for them to be comfy in certain situations. Hope this helps.

Like people, dogs have personalities. Your dog may not be a coward, just shy. Don't try to change him, it won't work, you'll just traumatize him more.
