Yes I believe so. I think some people might disagree. But personally I have this really strong emotional bond with my dogs, so when I get exteremely sad (for example) my dog (poodle mix) comes up to me and just for no reason cuddle with me and sleeps next to me. It makes me feel so much better, kind of like a friend that doesn't talk to you but just there for the emotion.

In some ways dogs are used as therapy treatments @ hospitals and clinics for the elderly/children to which they feel better and such.

I don't think a dog can cure a diesease such as cancer for example, but I definately do thing a dog or the presences of a dog can change the mind set of how a person is during their emotional distress time or during their sickness to which they feel better and perhaps get cured because of how their mindset is.

I think so. Many hospitals and nursing homes allow dogs in because they boost moral and bring some happiness. I do not believe dogs are magical, but intuitive to some people and can sense mood changes and sadness. I watched Unsolved Mysteries once where a dog kept sniffing his owner's breasts and would not stop barking, she got it checked out and had a lump she needed to get removed. In another case, a dog could sense when a seizure was coming on and would alert the owner who would make it to a "safe" place to seizure.

sure!! dogs are used in children's clinics all the time. they bring out joy and positive thoughts and feelings. they make you better. if you're sad and a pup comes your way, doesn't your heart feel better. dogs heal even if it is a mental heeling.

also my brother was in an accident when he was 16. he was riding on the hood of a car that took a sharp turn. he flew off the hood and skid on his face a half a block. amazingly he survived. my moms Pomeranian kept my brother company and she used to lick his wounds. i know it sounds gross, but my mom believes dogs heal. miraculously his wounds healed quicker and better than the doctor ever thought they would. now almost 8 years later, my brother has hardly any signs of a facial accident. so yes i believe they heal, in more ways than one. why else would GOD have put them here to be our companions?

People with dogs live longer and heal faster in some cases. Some dogs are trained to sniff out tumors and can detect impending seizures.

Yes, they do. Dogs can lower your blood pressure if you pat them. Since you have to take them out, that also means a little bit fresh air exercise for you also (and improves your mood also)

Sure, if it's a Saint Benard, they carry those little barrels of Rum that are just great. Ah Rum, my favorite way to feel good. TO THE CAPTAIN!
