I have a 9 yr old Schipperke with multiple problems..Degenerative disk disease, osteoarthrits and osteoporosis, torn cruiate ligament. The poor thing has a very hard time walking and squatting to pee. We recently took her to a dog chiropracter which has helped but then had started to drag her left hind limb--torn cruciate ligament. After weighing our options, surgery was the best option (had it done 12/27/06). She was previously on Deramaxx and occasionally Prednisone (not at same time). Now with this surgery she's on Remadyl, which I think is similar to Deramaxx. Does anyone have any sugestions or thoughts or better medical treatment? Please help!

I have a Keeshond who is about 14 months. This is breed is known for being very calm & docile... well, thats definetely not my dog, especially when she wants to play (which is 24/7). Her problem is that she has what the vet calls "submissive peeing" which occurs when a dog gets really excited. It's got to the point where we have to take her outside constantly before any guests arrive. I know this problem can be trained and we've tried, but nothing seemed to work. Thanks for the help.

I have a 6 year old female Pitbull who has never been around kids. Well, my cousin is coming to visit me and she is young. I don't know how the dog is going to react. I don't really trust her though, since she has shown signs of agression before towards adults, especially when doing rapid movements like running and swinging hands during a conversation. And yesterday while I was walking her, a kid passed running and she tried to jump on him and started barking. I don't know if she is trying to play or trying to attack but I don't really wanna take my chances. What should I do?
Other than that, she is a very sweet dog.

I have a Choc Lab 1 and the half yo (well-known for its strong neck and like to pull). I have tried few different methods of walking with him without pulling and sniffing the ground. However, when he is on leash, he just cant stop pulling. He is a sweet dog but not when I walk with him. I have tried/ followed that have been suggested from the website but..
I would appreciate if anyone could give me tips so I could walk him not he walking me :)
Thanks.

Lily is four months old and I noticed today that her hair on her head is gray/silver at the roots. Is something wrong with her? I worry about her a lot because at four months she has just reach one pound. I am thinking that is kind of small even for a yorkie?

I have two 4 month old American Pit puppies and they do great with Royal Canin puppy food. The thing is that I feed them with the large breed baby dog formula which costs about $16 a bag and its only 7 lbs. They finish one bag in about 3-4 days, so you guys can imagine how much money that costs me to feed them. I also tried buying the regular 35 lb large breed puppy formula which costs about $42 a bag. Today I had to buy 4 bags of baby dog formula because that's the one they digest better and I almost spent $70. I love Royal Canin but I'd like to know if there's another brand out there that could give the same results and at a lower price. I'm aware of the crude fat and protein levels or Royal Canin compared to other brands, and it is way higher. I really need an advice please...

i already saw a vet and he said it most likely will not drop.....i have decided not to get him nuetered because in fact it takes away territorialness and instinct. Is there hard evidence that he will get cancer, or any ratios you can throw at me.

My pet store has been very trustworthy so far, and they don't keep puppies in stock, though they have little cages for oops-litter kittens that they adopt out *people bring in the kittens, you get a free cat with a $35 purchase of kitten supplies* Again, they NEVER have any puppies in the store *okay, pple bring theirs in sometimes*

Anyways, as an act of desperation, I asked for a price quote on the breed I"m after *papillon, if you must know* and was told that it would be less than four hundred, which is less than half the price from breeders. I'm told she would be vet checked, micro chiped, vaccinated, and pedigreed. The price is what throws me, because I'm told petsores over charge, and I'm sure that from this place I could get a reffund if something was horribly wrong *like it was the wrong breed, or some genetic disorder was discovered upon her vet visit* I've made no decission yet, but I see no red flags, either.

Tell me what could go wrong here?

When he moves his ears the left one folds up and points towards the left side of his head and stays there. We just took off the bandage today---is this natural? Will this straighten on its own?

I want a small dog with short hair(easy to groom, I don't mind shedding) who would be comfortable living in an apartment and being walked about once a day. I have had dogs before but this would be an only dog. I don't have any children. Also the name of a good breeder website for that dog? I was thinking maybe a chi or a min pin?
