The pictures and videos are there. There's no reason for them to be faked. What would there be to gain?
Personally, I'm not willing to take the chance of supporting a company like that. Aside from the fact that their food isn't that great anyway.

I cannot answer your question as to the cruelty. What I can deal with is the issue of the quality of the food.
IAMS USED TO BE a premium dog food. They were purchased by Proctor and Gamble a few years ago (many people don't know that) and the formula of the food was changed.
The formula is now not the quality it used to be.
Think about it...once you were only able to purchase IAMS from pet food stores and such. Now they are commercially available at much lower prices in the supermarkets...so...is the quality still there? I think not.
Also, some vets recommend IAMS and sell the product. All the vets get a "kickback" from ANY COMPANY WHOSE PRODUCT THEY SELL (food wise) AND ENDORSE....so...While there are MANY MANY VETS out there who will sell ONLY QUALITY foods, there are also many who are in it for the "almighty dollar".
Always read the ingredient labels....not just for what is in the food but also for "crude protein", "crude fat", "Max. moisture", etc before you buy the food.

Hi, I read about this and seen the video a few months ago. It made me sick!!! I never have nor will I ever buy this food. It's a shame the food in the stores can't be pulled and these people put out of business. I can't understand why it hasn't been done yet. Those poor dogs, how could any one stand to work there. I wouldn't for no amount of $$$$$$.If there was any way I could help those poor dogs I surely would. I didn't look at this video this time and I never can/will again.

My dog wont eat his meal/ daily dry food recently. I was on the verge of switching his food to other brands. However, many people told us same thing that you have read!
I am not so sure how true the story is. However, as a dog owner, I rather give my dog a meat an add few ingredients (home-made) food to my dog. Big companies could eliminate rumours by doing PR work like adverts in the media. I wont live in doubts if I heard something like this. Thus, I still give him the same food from small local dog food company!

I don't believe this for a second.
I've been to an IAMS food research plant. The dogs are running loose and are treated like royalty. Workers can take them home at the end of the day if they want, and bring them home in the morning. There are plenty of workers who want to do this, and so no dogs are left in the facility at night. When the dogs retire, they become the pets of one of the workers.
I find it very hard to believe that their policies and treatment of animals would change so much from one plant to another. Sorry, but I know first hand that this isn't true.
EDIT: Did you notice that in that article, the author says she went to a "contract testing laboratory?" That means that IAMS rented (contracted) space in a larger laboratory where other research was going on. I saw nothing in that footage that shows that it comes from the IAMS space in the lab rather than someone elses.
There's no way I'm going to believe PETA's lies over my own eyes!

Proctor and Gamble test on animals...it is TRUE!! They force dogs and cats to ingest things like shampoo and laundry detergent...they put chemicals in their eyes, and scratch their skin and put cleaning products in their wounds. Do not buy Tide, Oil of Olay, Herbal Essences, Pantene, or Bounce products. Read labels...boycott Proctor and Gamble. Buy green and biodegradable products that put right on their labels that they are cruelty free.
And by the way...you know where they get those dogs? From the SPCA and in the States, from the ASPCA...they buy them from them cheap cause no one will adopt them...hence all the beagles and shepherd crosses (the most abandoned breeds, due to morons that breed in their backyards and don't know jack).
Send Proctor and Gamble a letter or email and ask them flat out if they test on animals...there is your proof!! If anyone deserves to burn in Hell, it's the b a s t a r d s that do this work!
And by the way, Mushroom, I hope you can sleep at night knowing you support the torture of helpless, voiceless animals that wag their tails and try to love the humans that end up killing them. Funny how you can sit there and say it's all B.S. and not provide a link to any proof.

Do we really need to go through this again and again?
The AR groups LIE, ALL THE TIME! This 'proof' was proven to be falsified and doctored YEARS ago! PeTA has a vendetta against IAMS (among others) because IAMS wouldn't support their extremist views.
Why would you believe ANYTHING said by the AR groups such as PeTA, hSUS, DDAL, IDA, BF, etc. Their goal is NO MORE PETS and they will say and do anything to further their agenda!
I don't feed IAMS because it is a crappy food, it has nothing to do with the AR lies.

Torbay - "ASSUME that they were correct???? That seems to be what people do."
Ya, wouldn't want to have to do any critical THINKING!
Mushroom - "They also kill more animals that come into their "Sheleter" than come out because they don't belive in rehoming them"
Yes, they killed 90% of the animals they 'rescued' last year. The shelter up the road from them manages to adopt out almost all of theirs.
Furthermore, they steal animals and lie to owners to get their dirty hands on their pets. Are you aware that PeTA has a current court case for doing this, as well as throwing them in public dumpsters like yesterdays trash?

all people hates animal cruelty, yet what one defines as cruelty differs. Vegetarians could say elevating animals in production unit farms is adverse yet given the main concepts-blowing existence before their existence is slaughtered its very properly vegans could say measuring any animal by employing its use to people is cruelty regardless in case you have given a cow abdomen rubs & heat towels before slaughter, the forceful taking of its existence is cruelty. common persons will say donning fur is abysmal yet leather-based is very properly. Veganism has a tendency to be the only one that doesn't fall in on itself under scrutiny because it condemns animal cruelty in all varieties be it game, clothing, cosmetics, nutrition BQ: vegetarian going vegan once I examine Gary Franciones (o.k. respected regulation & ethics professor) articles on the inconsistency in vegetarianism with the aid of fact the ethical baseline

Please do not beleive a word of what PETA says. They are known liars and support eco terrorists. They also are PRO BSL and want to abolish pet ownership all together (letting ALL domesticated animals die out.) They also kill more animals that come into their "Sheleter" than come out because they don't belive in rehoming them. They are disgusting excuses for human beings and have admitted that they aim their campaigns at kids in order to brain wash them. Don't buy into their BS. There have been many groups that really do help animals that have already proven that the claim about IAMS is complete BS. Don't let yourselves be brainwashed.
