I have a pit bull (lab cross??) we aren't really sure what he is, we rescued him. But he can jump so high! I have wanted to do agility with him, but I haven't gotten that chance to sign him up. I have some little dog agility jumps at home and I jump him pretty high over those. He is an amazing jumper and it is so much fun! He absolutely LOVES to jump! I just don't know if it will hurt his joints later on, (I have to jump him on the concrete, we have only a small grass area.) how high and how often should I jump him???

This puppy was brought there by a nurse or doctor from Calgary Alberta and I am trying to adopt her and bring her back to Canada. It seems legit but they want the money first and I can't sent money without the pup first. I have no guarantee but am desperate. She has sent me pics of the pup and she seems nice but how can I tell if this is not just another scam?

I have a dog, chocolate lab-austrailian shepard mix. She is 2 1/2 years old and an escape artist. I cannot keep her indoors and so she and my golden retriever have a nice kennel and dog house. I cannot keep her in. She climbs, so I tried tying her up in the kennel but there isnt a collar out there that she can't slip out of. Our next move is to put a roof on the top of the kennel, but she is also a digger. It is too cold right now to pour a cement floor. If I cant contain her, I am going to have to find her a new home. Any suggestions?

Just adopted a dog, two year old border collie-aust shep mix and she peed on the floor about two minutes after our walk. I told her bad dog and she knew she was in trouble, hid on the couch and chose to ignore me for a few minutes.
I figure it may be new territory, etc, but she didn't even let me know she had to go. Any advice or tips from anyone.
I have to go to school tommorow from 8 am til about 2 pm and now I'm really worried about leaving her.

(He's actually sleeping in our bed) But during the day if he gets excited or just marching around the kitchen playing we look and there he goes just squirting as he walks! He's not even squawting like he does outside.. He doesn't poop inside he always askes to go out for that. Any suggestions?

Of the puppies my chihuahua had, we are currently with only two. The rest have been sold, and we are left with a young, healthy black spotted smooth-coat, and a black, big-headed one. The big headed one looks like it will become pocket size, and the white one will grow like her father. There's only one problem. The black one is always crying. We have a bed for him and wanders around the house, whimpering and howling, and when we pick him up he stops a bit but still whimpers. He's not eating much. Finally, when we do take him outside, he's happy and running, but only for a little while, then begins to cry.

Can you please tell me what's wrong?

I've had mutts, including an English Mastiff/Cur mix-(awesome dog), a Pit Bull-(Sweet) a Chiuhaha(sp???), two curs, and a Rat terrier, all since I was a kid. My Rat terrier just died a few days ago, and I want to plan ahead on the next dog I get. I have a 4 month old, and a fiance. I'm looking for a dog that is generally good with children, healthy, kind of big (size of a lab) and a little unique. Anyone have any suggestions on what breed I should get? (I'm planning on not getting one for about another 6months to a year, but I just want to plan ahead)

What are a few simple things (say first 10 or so...) you teach your k-9. Is it true that one of the things are teaching the dog to always follow and walk behind you? Please help, would really like to start teaching my 7 month old Rottweiler these things, thanks!

why is it that when someone asks a question about a dog being outside or that they are having trouble house training it or something like that we get a bunch of dog breeders that answer with snotty remarks like no dog should be outside ect.. well if your so great and love dogs and are so good then y is it that when our roads and shelters are packed full of good and sweet dogs that need homes that you are at home breeding your dogs to add to that? you do it for the money thats y so how can you sit there and say that i should not keep my dog outside even if i pay attention to it during the day have a warm bed for him and lots of food and water? at least i got him from a bad home who was starving him and i am not adding to the thousands of unwanted dogs every day and i saved him from death where so many died today and several will get the gas tomorrow? im not putting anyone down but i am just wondering why you think you can tell me how bad i am when i think your not doing rite either.

Many dogs have special abilities according to their breeds. Border collies like to herd. There are special shows they can enter to herd sheep. Jack Russell Terriers because of their energy level love to run and run. There are special show where they can enter races. The dogs really enjoy themselves. I have a Llasa and have no idea what his breeds special abilities are. I want him to have a happy and satisfying life. Any suggestions?

If not fatal, how costly is treatment? BTW, this is not my puppy - I'm asking for a friend who recently adopted this puppy and just found today that it has heartworms. She is pretty upset - so I'm just trying to get information for her.
