As long as the dog is friendly, shouldn't take very long. Some dogs are a bit territorial though, those would need to be watched around the kitten and might take a while before he would let the invador stay around. A friendly dog will accept mostly anything, and since the kitten is young, the kitten will have no problem at all.

depends on the breed of the dog (some are natuarlly more agressive to cats) and its training level...
depends on the kitten - a kitten who hisses or runs will make more of a target of itself..
