My Siberian/Wolf hybrid puppy growls everytime he's at the vet, he doesn't try to bite, but the vet doesn't want to look at him because he's part wolf, any suggestions on how to stop him from growling?

. I’m looking for a home remedy.
Our family pet, a 3-year-old golden retriever she constantly shakes her head vigorously, making the end of her ear bleed. I think it accompanying an ear infection. I've treated for ear mites and no avail. I’m looking for a home remedy.

She whines and cries, jumps up and down and tries to take her Halter off when she sees other dogs. While in the car, if we pass people, dogs or anything else, she starts walking around and whining. She tries to jump out the car windows if they are open. She is an attention hound and will calm a little if I pet her while we are driving. It is impossible to drive with her in the car, and walking her is horrible because all she does is scratch at her halti and try to run after cars and other dogs. Help!!

My wife just about KILLED me when I went and got our pitbull Sadie fixed! She was VERY distraught by it and now won't speak to me! They dog is ruddy 3 years old and should have had it done 2 and a half years ago, but i let it slide! But enough was enough and I got her fixed and now she's ANGRY! Everyone around our neighborhood wants their studs to BREED with her! She's a full blood American Staffordshire Terrier (Yes, a pittbull) and I won't have it! They won't breed their males with her because I'm sure I know their sadistic motives with the pups! She was in heat and bleeding all over the ruddy carpet and I didn't want the girls to be near her because she'd bleed all on them! She didn't get tempermental during this time (doesn't havea bit of a temper on her), but the menstrul blood, UGH! My five year old girls don't know why mummy is mad and I sure don't myself! She doesn't want to breed her either, so why do you think she's mad at me over it?? Just to be mad?? Does anyone know?? :-\

My pug can kiss me and practically lick my lips off if I were to let her. I know this seems a little gross but she gets so excited when i get home that i cant seem deprive her of the joy. I have however noticed that she seems to do this once shes calm as well, so i was just wondering if anyone can tell me a little more about pugs or dogs in general when it comes to practically licking your face off, lol. Thanks

The breeder I'm buying my dog from wants to go with a liquor theme for the puppies because the mom's name is Bailey. These are purebred registered puppies. My gf likes Prince Johnny Walker so she can call him Prince. lol I don't know. Tangeray is already taken. :P It's a boy puppy. I thought Alize but that's a girls drink. So what should I name this cute lil akita. He's all white. Since it's registered I think it needs 3 names. Please some ideas!!! I'm think maybe a liquor name or name of a drink or somethin? Thanks so much for all your help!

I've been trying to get a Yorkie and I've seen a couple of ads on yahoo and in my local classifieds that say they will give you a free yorkie and you just have to pay for shipping. They want you to wire them the money and they will send you the pup, but its sounds like they will probably just pocket the money and you'll never get a puppy.

I have a ringworm problem that isn''t going away. My dog has had it since October 15, it is now December 4. I have taken her to the vet twice. Skin scrap was positive for ringworm for 3 patches on her mussle (one right on her lip where she can lick it). Our vet first put her on Cavamox, 2 pills of Program (given 2wks apart), and topical Tresaderm (twice/day). Well, that only improved it alittle, so then we used (topical) Clotrimozole and held her mussle shut for 5-10 minutes (3 times a day). It has gotten better but still not gone. Our vet didn''t give any other advice for getting rid of it finally for good. So..my question is, is there something else I can give her or do that will clear it up quickly? I wonder if I could use human products on her because she can lick them, or somekind of home remedy? Also, how do I know it is gone, what do I look for? Thank you for your time, it is greatly apreciated!
Very frustrated!!

He is eating, drinking, pooping and peeing but he is being very lethargic. He's not even harassing the kitty or getting up when he hears plates going into the dishwasher. He's going off to lay down and not laying in his usual places. I find him in the back of the house and when I ask him what's wrong he just acts sheepish. What is going on? I am calling the vet in the AM if he's not better but any ideas?

We went to look at some Westie pups and they were so adorable but I noticed while I was talking with the breeder that 2 of them used the bathroom and then ate their poo. It was pretty disgusting! Is this something they grow out of? Is it a sign of a deficiency, etc? We are still going to get the puppy (I can't wait!) but I am just wondering if I am going to have a pooeater or not! FYI, the pups were about 5 wks old when I saw them last and will she will be 9 wks old when I bring her home.

I have read some of the question that have been answered here. I do know that praising is good, and that hitting them is not good way to discipline them.
But, when you praise the dog, what is the praise? Is it giving a treat? I just read a book about dog training/discipline and just about all of the lessons require you the owner to give at least 5 treats per lesson.
Now, there are treats that are VERY tasty, but are backward to the dog's health so you don't give it them that often, but the more healthier ones are not as tasty so the dog may not think it's a praise. Also with the treat idea the dog could be thinking everything is for a treat, and when they don't get a treat, they think something is wrong which can lead to behavioral problems.
Then some people cannot afford all those treats like me.

How do you effectively train or discipline your dog without treats (and maybe without toys if the dog is very picky and you can't find one)?

My mom has a 4 year old minature schnauzer and whenever we go over, she always barks at my 10 month old daughter. She doesn't cry when she barks at her, she just yells right back. When will my mom's dog get over it and stop barking at her?

My little JRT/Beagle mix likes to clean everything. It's absolutely disgusting. He will clean the eye boogers from our Labs face, he'll clean out her ears, he licks hands, his paws and legs, his rear end...I know, I know, dogs clean themselves and they like the taste of salt on our skin, but eye boogers and ear gunk? What could he possibly find that tastes good there?

Anyone else have a dog that does this?
