If she's got an ear infection then you need to do three things.
Go to a natural health food store and purchase some Colloidal
Silver, put 3 drops in her ear 3x daily. This will kill infection.
Do this for a week, maybe longer.
Sometimes earmite treatment doesn't work,' the kind you get from the store or a vet.' I suggest you mix 3ozs rubbing alcohol
with 3ozs white vinegar and put a full dropper full in her ears
once daily for three days, this will kill off any mites that are still there. She is obviously in distress, and something is wrong so I
suggest you give her 2 chamomile capsules 2x daily, and 1
velerian root capsule 2 times daily. This will help to relax her,
and the chamomile will actually help the healing process. Do the
mite treatment first for three days, then start the collodal silver.
This should do the trick.

There is no home remedy for an ear infection. If you let this go on, it can migrate to the brain and kill the dog or cause permanent damage to her hearing. Only antibiotic ear drops can cure the infection...please take this dog to the vet immediately! Once cured you can use plain rubbing alcohol to pour into the ear every week and let the dog shake it out. It will dry the ear and prevent new infections. Dogs with flop ears have more ear infections than dogs with prick ears, because it's a dark, damp environment for bacteria to take hold. Use Q-tips and clean out the dirt and debris that accumulate in the ear on a regular basis. These dogs love water and you will have to take care of the ears for the life of the dog. It comes with the breed.

Ear mites are not the only problem dogs get! She could have a yeast infection and that requires specific treatment. Can take a while to get rid off and can cause long term damage. Ear mite medecine does not cure.

Ear mites cause a dark brown ear "wax". Yeast causes red, inflamed ears. Sour smell. Caused by moisture inside the ear. Air cannot get to the ear to keep dry inside. Yeast infections like moist areas as most ladies know. Yeast infections are really serious and need to be treated immediately. Some dogs develope chronic yeast infections and it is SERIOUS.

The ear, especially the inside, will actually get ulcerous, puffy and if not treated can lead to deformed ears. Loss of hearing.

So, no home remedy. Take care of your pet and go to vet.

Get to the Vet now, Poor pooch... I also have a Golden (Buddy) and he too is very prone to ear infections due to the large amount of hair Golden's have. You must clean their ears all the time. I use Q-tips, and it works good, I also use an ear wash you can get at Petco or Petsmart. I first squeeze the the ear wash into his ear and rub around for a few seconds. to loosen up any hardened dirt. then I turn his head and we let the excess drain out. (must have large paper towel with you ) then i clean each ear with the Q-tip. But this is only maintenance. You must first cure the infections, infections do not go away on their own. they only get worse.

You need to find out why she is shaking her head. You should take her to your vet and have the ear checked out. It could be an infection or she might have a foreign object in there, or she might have a ruptured eardrum. Your vet can prescribe appropriate treatment.

Even if you clean the ears yourself, if there is an infection, foreign body, or parasite in there, you need to get it treated by a vet. OTC remedies most likely are not strong enough to solve the problem

If you don't address the underlying cause, she will continue to shake her head and the ear will continue to bleed. And that lesion might become infected.

Good luck!

There is no home remedy for treating an ear infection. You need to see the vet and get appropriate antibiotics to take care of this. Please do this soon as an ear infection can be very painful for a dog.
