I bathe my dog as supposed to, but yet he still itches. Especially at the base end of his tail. Its also more like chewing. And its bad enough to cause sores.

we have a 12 year old cocker spaniel and are thinking about getting another one (a puppy though). we didnt socialize our dog when she was younger so shes really unfriendly. we got a shih tzu years ago though and after awhile they became best friends (but the shih tzu passed away 2 years ago). so if we get another cocker spaniel do you think she'll ever accept it or will she feel replaced cause its the same breed as her?

We were advized to put a cone around his head so he won't bite the stitches out for 1 week. Sadly, however, my puppy is heartbroken with the cone and cries. So we bought a muzzle to be less cruel and put it on him. He still is all sad!

Any advice? Should we stop using these devices?

I've had this puppy for about a week and she's been very good about going in a box with a puppy pad when we put her in it. Now she won't go. She's been in the box for about 2 hours now and I can't figure it out. The only thing that I think could be a problem is I'm using a different brand of puppy pads. Does this have anything to do with it? Would it be best to leave her in there until she goes or take her out? Help!

my dog wipes his backside on the floor, whether it be carpet or lino or wood, or even over the metal bars where the doors are,, doesnt seem to hurt him though.
what is up with that, luckily he spends all day cleaning his rear-end, so its not messy, and very funny to watch, he drags his body with his two front paws perched on his bottom, with both back legs in the air, but seriosly, what is up with that????

I help with bloodhound rescue and have a bloodhound for a pet and a lot of people seem to think they lay around when in fact they are very active. Any dog will live a long life if it is taken care of proplerly.

my dog is 10, thats about 60 in dog years and she is always sleeping. This has been going on for about 2 or 3 weeks and shes not active at all. Her life span is supposed to last about 4 or 5 more years, but she seems like she could die any second. Is there any way i can make her happier or more active?

Is there an effective device that I can use? Of course, I've already spoken to the dog's owner.
That didn't help.

My vet told me a collie would do just fine in an apartment as long as I take him for a walk in the morning and in the evening. Anyone have any personal experience with this?

My daushund died Christmas Day of Parvo. The highschooler at the front desk at the Vet's office didn't tell the Vet we asked for boosters so Make sure you tell them yourself and save yourself what the kids and us went through.
So I took the G. Retreiever to the Vet the next day and she is clean. But she has diarrea(mucus in it) and vomits(everything she eats). They gave a stool hardner which ran out and something to calm her stomach but if that pill starts to wear out she gets sick again. I'm almost out of pills and it's a holiday. What do I do and what could this be?

I have a little Whippet who regardless of whether she wants the toy / chew or not will refuse to let my other dog enjoy it. She barks at him until he walks away! Or she steals it and sits on it so he can't have it. Any helpful suggestions?

I'm getting my dog neutered next month. The clinic quoted me 200 dollars for the neutering, pain management, shots, and blood work when he gets neutered. This seems like a very fair price to me, but I was wondering what the blood work is for. Does anyone know?

I have 4 cats and 1 puppy, and today I found a dead roundworm on the floor.
How can I know what it came from? Is it safe to treat all of my pets even if they aren't infected? And what is the best product to use that I can buy at the store, and not through a vet, without spending a fortune?
