when we eventually allow him inside for quick hugs, will his natural instinct kick in and he will know to go outside for piddles and poos?

Keeping a dog outside will NOT train them to be good in the house. Also if you aren't going to have the dog inside with the family and take the time to properly train him, why bother to have a dog?
Outside dogs develop bad habits and behavioral issues. They often become barkers and people/dog aggressive. They are usuallu untrained/ill mannered. They also live shorter lives.
Do your dog a favor do consistant proper training and have as a family member or rehome him to osmeone who will take the time & effort.

It will go where ever you teach him to go. You are not teaching anything by just leaving the dog outside so when it is allowed in the house it will piddle and poo. BTW what is a groodle. Is this another mutt with a designer name?

To leave a puppy outside for these lengths of time is just plain cruel. That puppy needs love and to be around others. Why do you have a dog at all? I know you are very young but it really is cruel. Your parents should be ashamed to treat a baby animal that way. It's Winter by the way, I sure hope you live in a hot climate. You may wind up with a pupsicle.

Rather then leaving him out in the cold, why don't you try crate training? It's fairly simple and there are a lot of websites out there that can help. Just leaving it outside at first will not potty train it.

The best way to potty train is to keep the lil guy near you and watch him close. (Maybe on a leash) and watch for him to start sniffing around. Take him out constantly and praise him for going ypotty outside. If ou don't have time to do this, then just go with crate training. =)

I seriously doubt it. If you just leave it outside all the time your mix breed dog will think that it is ok to urinate and defecate wherever he is. House training involves taking it outside and praising the dog for using the outdoors instead of inside. How much time do you have to spend on basic training as it is? How much time do you spend with your dog? Does he get daily walks and playtime and training? If you want your dog to come in the house you should house train him and practice his obedience in the house as well as in the yard.

Who could actually own something called a "Groodle"?????? That sounds like a disease. Or at least something you would take medicine for.

If you are too lazy to potty train your dog, it will always leave "piddles" and "poos" in the house.

A dog's natural instinct is to poddy wherever they like. You can't leave a poodle outside (it is a house dog) all the time. You need to train the dog to poddy on papers and then you train them to poddy outside.

Your library will have lots of books to help guide you through this process.
