I have a 51/2 month burnese mountain dog. At five oclock sharp, she will start barking. I get up to let her out and have to spend the next 60 to 90 minutes with her. She is fed, played with and poops. Is there a way to have her wake up later like by 530 - 6am? How can i streamline everything so I have to spend less time , ideally 30 minutes to 45 minutes each morning?

I got him this past August. He is now 9mo.old and he is neutered. He barks and growls at new people who come in the house. Some people he warms up to and some he does not, in those cases I kennel him. Last week he snapped at a neighbor, in the face. Last night he snapped at my daughter also in the face, he has never done this to her before. He was laying down, but awake, so he saw her coming. When she knelt down to pet him he snapped at her. Is there any way to correct this behavior, or am I in for a big problem? Should I return him to the organization? I would hate to do that because I have become very attached to him, but I cannot have him snapping or, heaven forbid, start biting.

He barks everytime someone in my family walks in the house and he will continue to bark even though he sees us and knows that it's us. It drives me crazy! His bark is a loud piercing noise and I get migranes all the time so his bark really doesn't help. What should I do to make him get over this bad habit?

The most popular seem to be Heartgard and Sentinel. Any preferences?

My dog is a little nippy around other dogs, he is still very playful, but has hip displasia. My husband is worried that it will make his last few years of life miserable if we add a new dog to the house. I want to get a new dog so it can learn traits from our dog, and also think it will lessen the blow of losing Mike when he passes. Hes a siberian husky german shepherd mix, any thoughts would be helpful. Thanks

when my dog gets/goes out of the house without a leash she stays in the yard. but the only problem is that she wont come in the house when we tell her to. she stands there and when we try to go near her (ethier to get her in the house or just to pet her) she runs from us(im nice to her too.)
i would let her stay outside all the time but im just worried about something happening to her. i take her for walks and on a leash all the time
ive also tried having luring her in with treats... doesnt work
she does come in when we open the can of dog food...but i mean.. we cant be giving her a can of dog food everytime she comes in...
i dont want her going in the neighbors yard because im sure they dont like that and i dont want her going in the road...(we live on a dead end road but cars still go down every once and a while)but we also have lots of woods in the backyard i dont want her wondering and getting lost.

anyone know a trick or a way to get her in the house when we need her to?
HELP?!

I have had 2 to 4 dogs at the same time all my life and each puppy had some special mark they made as a puppy. I wonder if anyone else had the same experiences and how much diversity there is.
Some are typical but I'm wondering if there are some I haven't dealt with yet.

Hi there.
***I live in a house filled with a total of 4 humans including my mom, dad, and brother; and me of course. My brother is going to be 10 in April and I'm 13.
***We have 5 other pets ; 3 cats; 2 dogs. All get along with each other; they love each other.
***Is fairly easy to potty train; we do know that he is a puppy; and we do understand that it takes time.
***Is fairly small; about the size of a Miniature Schnauzer or smaller.(So we can take him/her in the car; if we go anywhere)
***We already have a Miniature Schnauzer and a West Highland White Terrier; and we prefer to get a different breed.
***The breed should be good with older kids.
Thanks so much. (:
