I owned a Pekingeese for 13 yrs and yes at times she had shown some difficulty breathing but it was on the rare occasion. But she sure could snore sometimes at night....

I have two and neither has breathing problems. They snort and sneeze but that is a breed trait due to the nose structure. Just as my Saints drool. You need to research the breed.

Breeding the nose and the legs off a wolf, mmmm

My mother in laws Pekingeese (however you spell it) does. Its because of their tiny snout. Another thing is a few yrs ago he jumped from a couch and had to have back surgery ($4000), because of some disk problem they can get. So be careful in his jumping or running. That was scary and sad, he couldnt walk only drag his legs, but thank God because of the surgery he is all better.

It is normal- this is so they don't hyperventilate when these breeds are shoved into a hot-pot for the Chinese to eat.
You do know that Chinese specifically favour Pekinese and they're bred for eating?

I have some photos I can refer you to if you don't believe me.
