I just got a 9 week old male Rottweiler from my uncle and he seems a bit wild and anxious. He doesn't really like being held for too long. Is there any sort of test that i can give him to see if he shows aggression. I know he's very young, but i have a 2 year old daughter and i certainly don't want an aggressive dog in the house. I saw the parents (my uncle has them) and they both are sweet natured. Any suggestions? Appreciate any advice on this. Thanks.

Well, I have read all the answers for others and so far I must say > none of that even makes sense. My dog whenever we put him in the yard just barks forever!! Now the whole ignoring thing, please > the more I ignore him the more he will bark.Obviously he wants the attention or come inside.I need for him to learn to stay outside when I need him to, reason is whenever i do let him be inside he will harass anyone by pulling, nagging, bitting etc.So really if he would be half way decent with people he would actually get to stay inside some more. For ex. if I put him in balcony and he starts with his little tentrum I have to go back and fort to reprement him and say no after while he stops.I just don't have the time and patience keep coming from the second floor to say no thousand times. The second I close the door he starts again. And believe me I do not give in, so there is nothing to fight for with the bark, yet he manages to bark up to 6-7 hours straight and can't let him in after that..

My chi will go outside to pee. He still has a pad in the house in case he has to go when I'm not home but he REFUSES to go poop where he goes outside to pee. He will either poop in the house (not on the pad) or I will have to walk him to get him to poop. If he poops in the same place more than three times he will not go anywhere near that area again. I really need to get him to poop when he goes out to pee.

I have two dogs, an eight year old cockapoo and a two year old Lhasa Apso (both females). My only problem with the girls is that Tibet (the Lhasa) gets very excited when company comes and in order to get the visitors attention before Cooke (the cockapoo) does she will jump up and grab the persons hand. I know her intention is not to be aggressive, but I don't like the idea that she is biting, even in this way. I have tried to seperate them from the guests when they first enter the house thinking that she will calm down a bit and have tried to introduce them into the room one at a time with no success. I should probably mention that Cookie also gets very excited but does not jump up or bite, she barks. This is the only behavior issue that I have and I tend to have a lot of company. Tibet is equally excited if the person is new or someone she knows. She used to get very excited when I came home, but has been better since I have basically ignored her when she is hyper.

She is a boxer bull dog mix. She can be really sweet and I have been working on house training her and tricks like sit. I cant get her to calm down though. She is REALLY hyper a lot.

She gos crazy and jumps all over you and it hurts because her nails are long and i cant get her to calm down long enough to clip them with the special clippers i bought.

Does anyone know how i can get her to calm down?

I just got a new hamster, and I think my dog is jealous?
I recently got a new hamster, and ever since my dog has been acting strange when I'm in the room that has the hamster cage in it. When I go to feed the hamster or see it, he will follow me up and if I shut him out he will scratch on the door with his paws. This morning I woke up, and he (my dog) was at my bedroom door because he wanted to come in. When my dog is near the hamster cage, he will just sit and stare at it.

I'm really worried that my dog could try to get into the room with the hamster cage, and attack it when I'm not in the house. He is a Golden Retriever, has never bitten, and is very good, so this is unusual.

Is he jealous, sad (thinking I've found a new friend) or maybe he is just interested in this furry little creature that he's never seen before?

She particularly likes tissues and paper towels that she finds in trash cans throughout the house and she seems to have trouble making bowel movements after eating paper.
